If you're taking Eliquis

The co-pay for 1 month's supply with my Medicare Advantage plan is about $165.

I can get the generic apixaban from a Canadian pharmacy for less than half that.

My cardiologist approved it.

I pay a little less with standard Medicare, but not much. Do you mind sharing the name of the Canadian Pharmacy and the manufacturer of the pills. Thanks.

I'm using Canada Pharmacy Online canadapharmacyonline.com

The more tablets you buy, the cheaper per tablet. I bought 180 Apixaban (90 day supply for me) for $348.99 USD + $10 shipping fee on all orders. That works out to $1.99/pill or $3.98/day. Still expensive, but better than $6.04/day.

Good luck.

Turns out I was dealing with a Canadian pharmacy SERVICE. Evidently they sub-contract with foreign pharmacies, because I next got a call frim a heavily accented Indian woman from an Indian pharmacy.

I'd rather deal directly with a pharmacy in Canada.

Just do a Google search and wade in.

🙂

Hmmm, good to know. I hadn't thought about that. Thanks

I signed up for a program on the Eliquis website which provides the meds with a $10 co-pay for 2 years. I believe this is US only and I qualified because I am privately insured. I cannot recall the requirements, but thought it may be helpful to some to look into this option.

Medicare disqualifies.

"Medicare disqualifies."

Makes sense. Why should us seniors get a discount 😂

Why shouldn't we?

Yes, we seniors should be given that discount. I was being facetious before.

The NHS supply mine free, but I thought Canada had a similar free health service to the UK. Am I mistaken?

I think it's a lot cheaper to buy now the patent has expired. My Apixaban is made by Sandoz in Surrey, GU15 3YL now.

All the best.

I'm in the U.S. and I think my pills are coming from the UK.

Fortunately I get mine free from our wonderful NHS. This is being privatised as we speak. I’m praying it can be saved. Hope all goes well for you.
