Hi, i had an ablation on 26th June for PAF and am still getting palpitations, but before the ablation i was never dizzy when palpitating but now i am. Rang the department at ST. Thomas in london to explain and the person who answered the phone said she would email the consultant but i have heard nothing. I know the ablation has caused my dizziness because when i am in NSR i am fine. Iknow i am in the blanking period but this dizziness is very unsettling.

You need an answer from a doctor as the healing process will be well under way by now. Do you have a Kardia, Wellue or similar to take an ECG while you are having the palpitations and dizziness to see if anything is happening heart-wise?

Hello.
You do not say whether you are still taking any medication for PAF following the ablation. You are possibly still on blood thinners which is fine. If you are taking Beta Blockers or Blood Pressure tablets, it could be that the dose needs to be reduced but, in any case, you need to speak to your consultant or arrhythmia nurse if still under their care. From memory, I think I got a slight light headed feeling from time to time after the second ablation which in part was put down to the concoction of tablets I had been on leading up to and following the ablation along with the General Anesthetic for the ablation. Good luck.
I have been suffering from lightheadedness /dizziness lately and found it was my BP - meds good in NSR but BP too low in AF. I agree, meds might need adjusting or you may need a CV.
I suspect low BP, which I experienced after my recent ablation.I would reccomend getting a BP monitor and Kardia so you can keep an eye on yourself because you are the best person to do so on a regular basis.
Please do keep on at the hospital, you should be under the care of a specialist nurse still.
