Slow Covid Recovery

Hello,

I am 21 days post Covid diagnosis and I am struggling to get back to normal. I am exhausted when I walk semi far distances. I have pressure in my head and my chest feels restricted. I am sure my history of afib is causing my recovery to take a bit longer. I had an ablation last March, so I am thankful that I am feeling good in that sense. But I can’t seem to shake this restricted feeling in my chest. I am currently taking a one a day vitamin. I have also heard that B12 may help with energy. If anyone else is struggling with this, I feel your pain and frustration.

Sorry you're feeling so bad. Recovering from Covid can be a long journey for some of us. Wish I could offer more advice than listen to your body and don't try and do too much, too soon. I felt better after a few days, did a workout and then relapsed. I was a zombie for over a month. The chest tightness can be part of the package, however best to alert you doctor now to your symptoms, so they can follow up properly.

Thank you for the advice Mjames. Yep I didn’t even know I had Covid and I was working out because I had mild symptoms resembling allergies. I wonder if that set me back. Then once I found out I was exhausted from then on. Now I can’t do much without wanting to collapse. Ugh! I am trying my best to be patient. I have a doctors appointment on Wednesday. Hopefully he can suggest something.

Completely agree with Jim. If you overdo things now, you risk your recovery taking far longer (from what I have read). In the absence of any meaningful treatment for long COVID, pacing and rest are critically important. Take care and I hope you recover really soon.

Sorry to say, it took about a month after Covid for my chest pressure and congestion to go away; three months for my energy to return. May I suggest that you get plenty of sleep and don't exhaust yourself trying to do things that tire you out. Best of luck for a speedy recovery.

Thank you! You are right. I didn’t have a cough but I was congested. I thought I got all of that stuff out. Maybe it’s still lingering. I will rest and give it about a month.

Rest up Utballa. Your body needs plenty of rest. It's still recovering and you have to give it time. Took me three months before I felt normal again. Glad you've got doctor checking your chest. Hope you feel better soon..
