pacemaker and av ablation update

hi good people

Update

Av node was due to be ablated 13 June 2023

But at recent pre assessment and pacemaker check it was discovered the lead has displaced

Seems to have dropped out two days after installation according to pm data

so Tuesday 23 June is now the day of my repositioning

No one’s fault they say

So back to square one

Never really wanted the bloody thing anyway

Know what you mean. Keep that arm down. When I had mine fitted there was a chap in for re-positioning and they said it was because he was very tall.

seems it dropped out two days later so don’t think I could have contributed to it coming adrift

Very diligent in keeping my arm down too

Seems it happens and I was unlucky but super disappointed never the less

I’m sorry to hear that Hardjuice, it must be really disappointing and frustrating for you. I’ve not got a pacemaker but it’s something I’ve been looking into for the future as I do struggle with the meds and, from what I’ve heard, they can be life transforming. This isn’t an easy road for you but I think it will be worth it in the end.

All the best, TC

Sorry to hear this. You gear yourself up to have this anyway, how frustrating. If it's any help, I had my pacemaker fitted last September and the AV node ablated in December and I cant tell you how much better I've felt ever since.Hopefully when you get it done, you will feel the benefits and it will all of been worthwhile. 🤞

Just curious, but what would happen if the pacemaker lead had become displaced AFTER the AV node was ablated? I'm just guessing it would be pretty serious?

seems there is a escape rhythm generated

That would keep you going till it got sorted

But they say pacemakers don’t fail

Once there fitted correctly

Thanks! And best wishes for a successful lead placement!
