Heart Flutters

Hi I had a ablation last October I have been fine up until recently, since my ablation I have come off my heart tablets (Bisoprolol & flecincade ) but over the last 2 weeks I have had heart flutters. My heart has been racing up to 150bpm when just sitting on the sofa and I have also been missing beats approximatively 5/6 times a min. Is this something I should worry about or is this normal after an ablation, do I need to speak to my cardiologist ?

resting HR of 150bpm isn't usual, might be a minor blip, could be an illness, stress etc.

I would speak to your cardiologist if you can

Re missing and extra beats, if they are very brief then that can be fine, as even normal people without AF have some. How do you feel when having these odd beats and how long do they last for? If you are concerned then ring the hospital where you had your ablation and either ask to speak to your EP's secretary or one of his AF nurses.

I don't call an hour short, you need to report it.

Well, much like this has happened to me following my ablation but I did once read a large study in which this was quite common yet still by the end of the first year, all was well, so I wouldn't worry at all

My own ablation was in June 2019 and for atrial flutter. In December that year, I had an event of high pulse rate and "flutters" but, to be fair, I was exerting myself trying to dismantle some furniture. A 1.25mg bisoprolol tablet calmed things down within an hour or so. However, since then, I have gone on to develop increasingly frequent palpitations with occasional AF. Recently, I was told to take the bisoprolol daily and that is helping.
