Flutters making me anxious

Hi all, I'm a 33 year old lady and had my second ablation for avnrt 10 months ago. Check up after that ablation was all good and I was feeling great. Am planning my wedding and am training at least 4 times a week, am in the best shape of my life. Over the past 3-4 months I've noticed the flutters more than usual, feel it going up then slowly coming down. I've fainted twice in the last six months at work (office job, nothing stressful) I thought the fainting would stop once my heart was fixed but apparently not. Overall am experiencing svt symptoms but not having the long extended episodes. Called my cardiologist and will be wearing a holter monitor next week for 24 hours to see what's happening. Has anyone else experienced this post ablation? I'm hoping to start a family next year so really want my heart to be fixed.

While I envy your fitness and training are you sure you are not overdoing it ? Hopefully your cardiologist will get to the bottom of this after your Holter.

( Oh to be 33 again..i was very fit then...had my first child at 34. AF did not strike until I was 48 and a long old journey since then ...)

I've never experienced fainting but certainly lots of flutters after my 3 ablations and still getting them.

Thanks for the reply Sandra. I had svt episodes my whole life and after last ablation I got engaged and I was inspired to achieve the best version of myself, my cardiologist said I was good to go so I don't think my training is the problem. I guess I just need to know if I am to live with these flutters (am nervous to have a pregnancy with them) or if something more can be done.

I wonder if you are taking Magnesium as a supplement ? I started taking this probably 12 months ago ( could be longer...i lose track of time !) and found this made a considerable difference to my tachycardia and possibly AF as well. Still get it but not so prolonged. Check with your med advisors first though in case there are reasons for you to avoid this.

I agree with Sandra that training is not always such a great idea. One needs to listen carefully to our body and be guided by what it tells us rather than push on regardless. I'm afraid few doctors seem to understand this as well as we who have been there and even worn out the Tshirt. Do try deep slow breathing as this often helps calm the nervous system. Slow your breathing to less than six per minute and use you diaphragm not your shoulders. In to a slow count of seven and out to ten.

I am dealing with the same issue. I had an ablation in late February. Haven't had any classic afib since then. But I am getting flutters, especially when I work out in the heat. I was really anxious about them at first. Not so much now. I am finding that dehydration can be a big issue for me. So I am trying to drink a lot of water and stay away from alcohol.

Yes I have the same problem. I thought it was because I was taken off the flecainide after my ablation, but after reading your news I'm not so sure. I hope you feel better

Thanks for all the replies friends! Good to hear I'm not going mad and other people experience this stuff. Sandra I'll definitely look into the magnesium!
