I've had four ablations (and four cardioversions). After the third (traumatic) ablation, I swore I'd never have another. However, my electrocardiologist took my file to "rounds," and a colleague from another local hospital here in Vancouver BC spoke up, saying he had an approach that allowed a better view/scan of the heart and as such he was quite certain he could be successful. He contacted me, and after some convincing, I agreed to give 'er a final go. Indeed, he was sucessful and I've been in normal rhythm for over two years now. Unfortunately, during the procedure, he "nicked" the part of the heart that controls heart rate, resulting in bradycardia (too low heart rate). This resulted in me needing a pacemaker implant. I turn 70 this summer, and I'm pleased to report not only am I in normal rhythm, but the pacemaker has me ticking along in the 50's HR just fine....but quite the journey to get to here!

Big journey with lots of twists and turns but destination is good. Well done. Best wishes.
We should write a collective book - The Trials and Tribulations of striving for NSR!
Glad you found your solution, pacemaker worked for me after 2 ablations.
Glad you are in NSR now - long may it continue!
Hi
Thanx for your good last outcome but perhaps you are better off with a pacemaker.
Best Wishes. JOY
