Had another cardioversion yesterday morning and so far still in normal sinus rhythm. It's so wonderful, after 6 weeks with my heart racing away at a constant resting rate of around 118bpm, to be normal again.

So pleased for you Jeanie! Long may it last.
yea I can relate The first thing I said when I woke up from my electroconversion was that my chest felt calm.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Terjo
Had 2 that both failed after 6 days, fingers crossed and good luck to you
So pleased for you I had CV 2yrs ago but AF just returned so back on Warfarin & Digoxin, Echo yesterday to see where we go from here
Thank you everyone for your best wishes. I've had 5 cardioversions previously, 2 during an ablation and three on their own. The first one lasted 2 days and the last one in November 2013 lasted for several months. I guess this one will last a few months if I'm lucky, then I guess it will be a third ablation to cure my atrial flutter.
I'm going to live for today, feel so much better right now. My daughter spurred me on last night by saying, 'We'll soon be loading up the bikes and doing a cycle ride '. I have to be well to do that with her and her husband. I want to do it!
I do hope you keep in rhythm! Sending my best wishes... Have fun on that cycle ride

Fabulous news! Will keep an image of a calm heart for you!
Wonderful news! I hope I have the same success in April when I have my first cardioversion. Scary!
Trust me there's absolutely nothing scary about a cardioverson. You go in, lie down, have a general anaesthetic and wake up with a heart that's working perfectly. There's a lovely calmness in your chest and I always feel liking crying with relief. The whole process from start to finish only takes about 10 minutes. I feel so grateful to the people that do the cardoversion. Oh yes, at my hospital they then bring you what's like a picnic bag and you have to eat and drink something and then you can go home. You have to have someone with you for the next 24hrs and can't drive in that time either. I was told it would take 5 days before I could resume doing my really long walks. You do feel a little tired for a few days afterwards. I'd never hesitate to have another and I couldn't wait for this recent one to happen, I was like an eager excited puppy.
I am so happy for you jeanjeanni50 It gives us all hope relax and keep in rhythm.
