I have been playing with an Artificial Intelligence (AI) program called ChatGPT (on the openai platform). It gives answers in plain English. For instance I asked it "how effective is pulsed field ablation?" The answer it gave within about 5 secs was:

"Pulsed field ablation (PFA) is a relatively new technique used to treat cardiac arrhythmias. Clinical studies have shown that PFA can achieve high rates of acute pulmonary vein isolation, which is a key component of the procedure. However, more long-term data is needed to determine the safety and efficacy of PFA compared to other ablation techniques. Some studies have suggested that PFA may have a lower risk of complications and faster recovery times than other ablation methods, but further research is needed to confirm these findings."

Which is a very good and balanced answer in my view. I then went on and asked what research had been published and it have me a list of papers.

This is a preliminary version of the program, its database is only updated to the end of last year, but it is very effective. How long before this board is superseded by a bot? I'm not sure it will be, as many questions and answers are based on personal experience. But it does make you think!

ChatGPT is great but with pitfalls. The biggest pitfall is that it can sometimes give you an answer that is totally wrong but with it presents the incorrect answer with such intelligence and conviction that it sounds totally right. Remind you of someone? Reminds me of any number of doctors :)

PS ChatGPT's knowledge base ends in 2021, so if you ask them anything about what's going on with balloons, they will probably not know it's an ET invasion :)

Like in "Space odyssey 2001"! But, for the first 5 years, you'd better ask only the questions you already know the answer on, lol! Can you imagine the source of information you trust with no reserve!? What a lovely means of manipulation!

Hi Mark.

ChatGPT is a bit old hat now in many ways. Microsoft and Google released their versions a few days ago. I'm on the waiting list for Microsoft AI which is in the beta stage. Bing are putting their version on the search engine (Microsoft). There will be some lawsuits ahead as content will not be attributed to the creator of a Vlog or news media. There is trouble ahead.

I'll tell you two things.

1. Google will be obsolete within 2 or 3 years' time.

2. It's the next big thing and there is money to be made.

Ref number 2. I'm jumping aboard that train as I type - I'm paying for a professional website to be designed this time and want to do it well.

GPT is good for writing poems. Here's one.

In a forum for atrial fib,

Where hearts beat to a funky jib,

There's PaulBounce, oh what a name,

With HR rate that's quite a game.

Jean is there, so full of cheer,

FJ, Wilsond, and CD appear,

BobD joins the fun, what a feat,

All with a heart that skips a beat.

We talk of pills and healthy ways,

And pray for better heart-rate days,

But when we're feeling down and blue,

We turn to each other, me and you.

We laugh and joke, we have a ball,

We don't let atrial fib at all,

We take each moment as it comes,

And keep on bouncing, everyone!

Surely you have read the recent public demonstrations of the inaccurate information spewed by these dumb systems that have wiped $100bn off the value of Google!

Much of the stuff on the Internet is wrong, often deliberately so, all Naturally Dumb (aka AI) systems do is aggregate the rubbish and spoon feed it to the gullible in a readily digestible form..

If you want good information do the hard yards and critically assess the data and its sources rather than swallow the 'junk food' equivalent designed to sell advertising!

AI is amazing if used correctly. And, as for PFA, I had it May 25th of last year in the Affera clinical trial at the Cleveland Clinic, and have been in NSA ever since. Affera's sphere 9 catheter can switch between PFA to RF ablation.

I believe PFA will become the gold standard in the US for AFIB once the FDA gives it the green light.

Very disturbing article in today's NY Times on AI "Bing's A.I. Chat Reveals It's Feelings" I Want To Be Alive". Don't read it if prone to nightmares. Elon Musk an others call AI potentially the greatest threat to civilization".
