weak left radial pulse after ablation

Hello everyone

my latest concern after my ablation 3 weeks ago is I have noticed my usually strong pulse on my left wrist is now very faint, with the one on my right wrist stronger than pre ablation.

I saw my GP today who said he agreed but had not come across this before and mentioned something about my perfusion being alright? He did not seem too concerned and has not referred me anywhere but I am now worried having asked Dr Google who offers lots of frightening reasons for this.

Has anyone comes across this post ablation?

thanks so much for reading

Did you have any lines in your wrists during the procedure? My hospital uses left wrist to fit sophisticted BP measuring device. Any lines in arteries can cause some stenosis (scarring) which may be the reason. Since an angiogram 6 years ago I have no pulse at all in my right wrist. Great for confusing doctors and nurses. lol 😁

thanks Bob I wish i was as positive as you! in answer not sure what you mean. I had a GA so was out of it. what i do know is that i had a lump like an egg near the left carotid artery that took about 10 days to go. wondered about that.

I think sometimes we over monitor things. I am guilty of that. If that's your major concern post ablation, I wouldn't worry, but if you want to pursue, I'd contact whoever did the procedure, not your GP.

you’re right mjames1 but this GP is always thorough. at one point he said he couldn’t feel it at all! in the meantime i’ve decided to see my EP privately on Thursday as I have other questions re my ablation 3 weeks ago that i wasn’t given at the time. sometimes i wish i hadn’t gone ahead with the ablation as my life has been upside down since. i’ll stop the winge now. thanks for replying

please speak with your surgeon or consultant and let him know how your really feeling it’s no good feeling like it’s ruined your life. I had an ablation in Nov and it was successful (not been without hiccups) but they have all been much a do about nothing mainly from playing dr google and Mrs anxiety queen. You just need time to adjust to having this procedure and everything will have went ok . I don’t even check my pulse in my wrist and I definitely won’t check either. Your consultant needs to put your mind at rest and make you feel better

"sometimes i wish i hadn’t gone ahead with the ablation as my life has been..." I have lost count of how many times people on this forum have said something similar. I think people have to really consider if they can live without an ablation before having one. There is always the possibility of side effects so we need to ask ourselves can I live with them because unfortunately ablations are irreversible. My own ectopics really get to me sometimes but I'm trying to live with them. I'm hoping that as ablation technology improves they will become safer.

Good luck and let us know what your ep says. Hopefully, things in general will start to calm down soon.
