my husband insists nosebleeds are the body releasing pressure. I get them since I was in my 30’s, and because if the anticoagulants, bleed quite profusely for a little while. This morning I thought I would check my bp at the same time, to prove him wrong.
haha - was 215/124 😱😱😱😱 within the space if 20 mins it had come down to 158/98 - apart from one blip of 157 pulse, rest of time pulse was a normal range. My bp is never consistently high, especially as I was sitting resting. After an hour I rang 111 to see if I should go to a & e. …. They were more concerned with the nosebleed …. I ended up with them telling me to contact my gp with in the next 12 hours and they would refer me along the right route.
so, was told by surgery to go straight there niw and a gp would see he in a gap between patients. Fine, off we go in the car…. I sit in the freezing cold surgery for 1/2 and hour. See a gp I actually trust, bp still raised but not that high. Heart sounds fine, no sign of af. Nice discussion with him, I end up with additional bp med - candesartan and told I should taking statins too as a preventative. I have to take bp 2 times day for 2 weeks, blood test in two weeks. Won’t refer me back to cardiologist, as not sufficient symptoms when in af (eg no chest pain etc) so next time I am in af I will pay more attention to symptoms as I want to get referred back. Not seen one for about 5 years. I took my first candesartan about 1.30 pm, in full blown af at 2pm, took pip at 2.15pm. Now want to pee for England (sorry)
Am just venting, thanks guys x
