Mitral Valve and Ethanol Injection procedure

hi all

so after 2 ablations which haven’t worked and now in permanent Af I have had a letter through from my EP at St Barts stating the following

At my last procedure they discovered a short circuit running around the mitral valve .

they want to perform a technique where they block a very small vein at the back of the heart which destroys a tiny bit of tissue that supports that circuit and this is called an ethanol injection .

My question is

Has anyone had or heard of this technique and can you give any advice or guidance please .

Funnily I just read on another thread where a poster was asking if anywhere in UK did this procedure, I hadn’t heard of it.

A lady named "Cuore " had three ablations in Bordeaux France the second of which was Vein of Marshall ablation. She posted two years ago. Maybe she is still on Health Unlocked?

Also a lady "DawnTX " has had a Vein of Marshall ablation in the USA, posted 7 montha ago.

whatever happened to Cuore? Does anyone know ? ? So far as I can see it’s 2 years since she posted here. I PM’d her a month or two ago and got no response.

Not sure if it's the same & I doubt I can answer any questions but I'm 9 days post-op AVR, LAAe clip, pvi performed & ligament of Marshall divided
