It can last a while. Has the bruising gone yet? If you haven't all ready do read this.

If you are worried do ring your arrhythmia nurse.

No, I don't think it's right for you to still feel discomfort in your groin after 5 weeks. I've had 3 ablations and my groin was better each time after a week, or 2 at the most.

Exactly the same for me. Had 3rd on 22 Dec and just feels slightly delicate there now. Perfectly fine walking and doing pilates etc. Bruising reducing.

Hi LindaI had an ablation last September. I had quite a hard lump, about the size of a pea, just under the skin, where the catheter was inserted. It slowly shrunk over 6 weeks. Was tender for about the first month. No sign of it now, completely gone.

Have you looked at it? I know it's hard to see, as I have one also, but if you hold a hand mirror to the site you can check for redness and/or swelling. My last one was about 2 months ago, and it still smarts a bit now and then, though I don't see anything unusual about it. Redness or swelling may indicate infection, and that should be attended to.

Not what you're looking for?
