Hi, Wife has a bit of tummy trouble and would normally have used Imodeum to treat her diahorea. She's on Bisoprolol, Rivaroxaban, and Lozartin. Is it still safe to take ghd Imodeum?

I take a wide selection of meds and no problem with taking immodium. You can always check the leaflet . Sometimes needs must! I was practically main lining Immodium after contracting Norovirus on a cruise some years ago with no adverse effects !

personally I stay well away as advice from doctor was better out than in if caused by a bug. If the cause is any other reason then take advice from your doctor but most importantly- stay well hydrated & electrolytes balanced.

Never affected me when I was "mainlining" it during radiotherapy. Without it I would never have got to the hospital each day for over a month. Handed out like smarties by the team there.

Hi

Eat white rice which is cooked in salty water.

Eat cherries

the above neutralises the stomach.

She can have a soft drink which has the gas deflated - FLAT.

Elements important is little salr replace and glucose.

I would try without immodium. It is dramatic and she could go constipated.

Keep hydrated! Take her bisoprolol on time.

cheers JOY. 73. (NZ)

Before you take anything to stop diarrhoea it is better if you know the cause. I took Imodium for ongoing diarrhoea (prescribed by GP!) but it was the worst thing I could have done as the diarrhoea was caused by diverticulitis and I ended up in hospital with sepsis from a bowel abscess. I wouldn’t take it unless you have to to go out (as Bob says) or unless it’s very severe, if persistent you should contact your GP 🍀 and hope they’re more competent than mine.

I would not like to advise her on any medication. Can she not contact her Dr's or ask the pharmacist if there was any problem with taking it.

I have not had any problems or upset stomach.

The only thing I stay away from is grapefruit which I was told by my Dr.

Sorry can't help other than what I do.
