My heart really reacts badly to this cold weather! The persistent AF is far more noticeable. It is quite alarming . How is everyone else affected ? L

Caution ski resorts! Altitude, exertion and breathing cold air particularly through the mouth, also refreshments in the mountain restaurants & apres ski.

Pre diagnosis & medication I had several bad episodes in St Anton (Austria) so had to give up my favourite sport and just when my son married a young lady whose parents live in a nearby village 😪

Maybe you AF is vagally mediated.

Hi wilsond,

Must say my BP increases quite a bit in cold weather. HR stays constant around 64 - 67 bpm thanks to Mr. Bisoprolol. All that said my body and I just sooooo hate this rotten cold weather.

Hi

NZ is the opposite too hot and muggy.

Under any exertion I need to leave off what I am doing.

For me plenty of water.

Hi

Lovely.

I an 2 hours or 150k north of Whangarei.

You will love it here with our fab beaches, scenery, mostly exc weather.

But I loved my late UK stay of 6 years working in UK.

I love how you allow my dog on train!. Taking her to up to Bristol to be mated with top dog. Mini Schnauzers. It worked 5 puppies!

Motor out to Tutukaka and around the East Coast and back. Head out to Dargaville to SWest and up thru Kauri Forest. Take the return ferry Rawene to Kohukohu and return. And of course motor the Old Russell Road up to Russell and further Paihia, Kerikeri, Mangonui, Coopers Beach - my home to the North Cape.

Lots of decisions or get Bus Paihia to North Caope return.

Have fun. Summer is here.. As I said Jan/Feb is summer!

NORTHLAND DHB has some of best Surgeons.

Mr Mark Sanders General Surgeon removed my Thyroid. Accurate, friendly, kind. He has done 2 operations on me now.

I know so many of those places you mention !! I stayed in Coopers Bay , Blands bay etc . Where do you go for cardiology ? L

I would recommend BRANDON WONG who has rooms just up past Northland Hospital. He put me on CCB Calcium Channel Blockers Filtiazem reduced to 120mg am and Bisoprolol 1.25 night. Must be separated. He also diagnosed Sleep Apnea AF on an acquaintance.

He was also working in DHB but said he was leaving there. Our DHB Cardiologist was not up to scratch and hopefully she has left. Left me uncontrolled. Since see Mr Wong I have stayed controlled 12 month so far with no changes.

Let me know when coming and I will alert Dr Wong. I got an appointment within days!

Hi

Mine is a thyroid thing. AF itself uncontrolled will make the regulation thing

worse. Load up the layers with regard to cold.

Have you had a thyroid scan? My results were normal but still i had thyroid cancer. Remember the thyroid hormones regulate every process.

Take care. I like April and often go campervanning until frosts start in June.

Hi

But my tests were OK.

Only the shadow pointed to a biopsy.

My symptoms were sweating and in the cold - cold feet.

And needing to stop here and there to revitialise myself. We now know that some was the AF.

I continue to stop when over exerting myself and this is probably my enlarged chamber in my heart as I an controlled with my rythmn and rate.

We have had frosts in Easter in April but not this year or last.

Try and get out to Mahinepua Road.Beach. So nice and one Labour weekend I saw Orca pups chasing around the outer rock to right, tide 1/2.

And Long Beach rocks I caught my 26lb snapper. Off rocks! JOY

Too cold and too hot, both affect me. We were in England for 2 weeks in November. I was freezing the whole time, combination of cold, damp, poorly insulted (but lovely & old) homes, unheated funeral location and lowered heat due to energy costs, left me shivering and shaking for 2 weeks. Though our lovely Airbnb hosts told us to crank up the heat (thank goodness!) I had several tachycardia events while there. Back home (upstate New York), the temps are colder, tons of snow, but I’m warm, so almost no tachycardia since we got home. 🤷🏻‍♀️🥶 ☀️
