I see you are a bit of a newbie like me. You sum it up in your headline. Very hard to get Drs to really listen and spend time working on triggers and electrolytes . They just like drugs . I have been reverted on a couple of occasions with intravenous magnesium in hospital. I regularly take a good dose of mg. as I feel it keeps my pulse down. Get your bloods checked and make sure your electrolyte balance is OK. I have a problem maintaining a good mg level without supplements.

Yes for many years. However now my AF is in remission I find it better to reduce both Mg and CoQ10 daily doses, which I believe were disrupting my sleep pattern a tad.

Unfortunately there are no silver bullets I have discovered with AF over 8+ years, the best advice I can give keep persevering on all fronts and accept a lot of trial and error is necessary before you find the best for YOU.

All we can say is 'it has helped with us'. I started taking magnesium bisglycinate (with taurine and vitamin B6) about 18 months ago after my stroke from AF. The recommended dose on the jar is 3 capsules a day but I only take one with breakfast. It brought about a significant improvement for me after a few weeks and I continue to take it. Why NOT take it as it has no side effects and can not be overdosed. If you find it is of no use after one course, then stop taking it. As others will say, there is quite a bit of anecdotal evidence of helping many with AF symptoms.

That's great. It took around ten days for me but I have not had similar experiences of ectopics since then, other than very rarely, though I am in 'permanent AF' whatever that means, as I can rarely feel any effect and the pulse is steady if irregular.

thanks I am also in permanent AF with same pulse as you! Strength in numbers as they say! Been waiting for Ablation for 8 months now, we live in hope!

I don’t take supplements but try to include magnesium rich foods in my diet. I think they have a positive effect.

I have asymptomatic atrial fibrilation that alternates with atrial flutter. I've taken the different formulations of magnesium over the years, and it doesn't seem to improve AF or sleep.

sorry to hear you didn’t get any improvement, seems to be helping me somewhat! Time will tell.
