4th ablation coming up

hi guys. Just heard from the Royal Sussex Hospital in Brighton. My 4th ablationis booked for the 22nd September. I could have had it next week but I have waited over a year to have a certain Dr to do it. No disrespect to the other EP but I had my heart set (no pun I tended)on a very experienced EP who my old cardiologist trained and recommended. I now have about a month to get my self in a healthier state.. I only want positive thoughts around this ablation so I'm going with 'this will work! ' 'I will be in the best of hands'

I am anxious, I guess that's obvious. So on the 22nd any healing vibes coming my way would be much appreciated. Thanks guys and have a great day.

Good luck! I got cold feet and cancelled mine on Sept 13 but haven’t ruled it out completely in the future. Too many conflicting info on exercising before and after and needing to go on PPIs to protect the oesophagus from the procedure to now learning there’s a stroke risk! Anxious indeed, who wouldn’t be? What health regime are you be told to follow to get fit for your ablation?

Wow I haven't been told to do anything other than do a lateral flow test the night before. I'm on Apixaban so I'm covered regarding stroke risk for the best part I hope. I have taken it upon myself to get as fit as possible and keep my weight down. Obviously it pays to be physically and mentally prepared but I have never been given any regime to follow. I have read the book The Afib Cure which has been helpful. It has never been suggested I take PPIs which is good because I don't get on with them. I think most people would be anxious having an ablation I just wanted the guys on this forum to do what they do best and that is listen and be supportive. When and if you decide to go ahead with your procedure write a post on here and they will cheer you on give you lots of sensible advice and support. Really long answer I know and thank you for your message.
