I have been taking CoQ10 far longer than I have had AF so have no idea if it would help reduce AF burden. I take 200mg daily but as I say been such long before AF joined the party.

Why do you think it may help?

I guess if you believe that then it may help.

I upped from 100mg/daily to 200/daily recently. It had no affect on AF but will help fuel Mitrochondria so helps energy, least I think it does.

I take one capsule of BioQ10 (100mg dose) each night. I take it for working against the side effects of some meds (Simvastatin and Warfarin ) to help with my energy levels. No impact on my AF which is paroxysmal anyway.

Like most supplements the amount you need to take is dependent on how much your individual body has naturally and from other sources.

I tested my CoQ10 level every 6 months for around 3 years on different doses and worked out, with some rough arithmetic, that to stay at the top of the recommended range in my case (although we will all be different) I needed to take 200mgs weekdays and 100mgs on the weekend days.

Why do I take it: when originally diagnosed with AF I sought the views of Alternative Practitioners, one of which was a high profile London Naturopath who claimed he put all his AF patients on an Mg compound and CoQ10. The former relaxes the heart muscle and the latter strengthens; the theory is if both Mg & CoQ10 are at the top of the normal range or at least in the top quartile, the heart will beat strong enough to avoid going into AF.

I have done this for 8 years and am quite happy that it is contributing to an AF free life without any downside. I also take Flecainide and have made numerous lifestyle changes, all in my strategy to cover all bases.

I also experimented with Magnesium and CoQ10 for a number of years. I have suffered from PAF for a long time. I agree with the comments from secondtry.

I take 500mg Mag Glycinate and 200mg Ubiquinol (Kaneka brand) per day alongside some Vit B12 and Vit D.

Buy good quality products made in Europe or USA. Avoid the cheaper Ubiquinone sourced from China or Asia - often repackaged in the UK and sold on eBay.

I take about 100 mg daily. I take a 30 mg capsule so I take one at meals. Sometimes take one before I go to bed. I quit taking it for a while and noticed I was more tired. Started it back up again and not as tired. So it must help with energy.
