How to get notifications for a particular thread?

Just a quick question. Is it possible to get notifications of new replies to a particular thread rather than alerts related to a reply I have given?

Yes you can get notifications when a certain post has another response. Just click on 'Save post' which is underneath the post you wish to follow the replies to.

Thank you. I don’t see an option to “Save post”. I do see options to “Copy post link” and “Copy reply link”. Is that the same thing as Save?

In blue under your name at the bottom of your post.

It is easy to scroll passed it as it’s before all the replies. The last Reply button at the bottom of the replies does not have the save option to Save next to it.

Hope this helps

Thanks jeanjeannie50

It seems to be a problem with my browser, but works fine with Safari.

Yes - just underneath the post you'll three options; 'Reply' 'Like' and 'Save Post'. If you save the post it'll notify you of any action on that post.

Thanks. Please see my reply to jeanjeannie50 above

Oh, that's weird. When I left my reply to you there was only Bob's reply showing. Now I see a whole bunch 'ahead' of my reply. I've often wondered why people answer questions that a number of people have already given a definitive answer on & this must be why! Other replies take a short while to show up perhaps?

Yes I think this may depend on whether you reply to an earlier reply rather than to the original post.

Not on my iPhone 17.3.1

Maybe because I use my browser to access HU. I’ll download the app.

Or you could make your own thread.

Hi

I go into the private person.

Press either CHAT or the other Join.

Then I get posts from this person or in the topic I think.

The two options looking at a member’s profile are Chat or Follow and are dependant on the member’s privacy settings. ie allow others to follow needs to be selected. If you are allowed to follow you will get notifications when that member posts.

Ironically, I didn’t get a notification for this reply as you replied to the main post instead of replying to my reply. I assume you were replying to me and it’s no problem just letting you and others know it matters which reply button you use for notifications to work and it affects the timeline view as you’ll see above as TopBiscuit was querying earlier.

Best wishes
