I have my ablation next week. Just read AF's 2 fact sheets (rather sceptically at start because the hospital sent me their own info) . However I was really impressed by the detail - I learnt so much more including extra things to take. Well researched, excellent level of detail. Well done to all concerned!

Ablation info sheets
Thank you. We asked members here those things they wished somebody had told them and worked out from there. Flapjack did the Preparing for and I did Recovery. We then spent about six months getting approval from the charity medical board and NHS England but well worth the effort. There were things we found out (like the migraine aura) that most doctors didn't even know.
Yes, Bob. The value of the fact sheet being driven by the patient, rather than written exclusively by medical staff
Appreciate your kind comments, as Bob said, a joint effort from many members. Good luck with the procedure and please let us know how you get on……..
I am 3 days post ablation and can confirm that I have had short spells of migraine aura on 2 days. In pre AFib days, I would have one every year or 2.
I have reverted to AFib - probably due to my increased heart rate following the procedure, currently waiting for my NSR to return.
Thank you for all your hard work and comforting, knowledgeable advice.
Hi where can I find the info sheets please. Thanks Helen
api.heartrhythmalliance.org... AND api.heartrhythmalliance.org... had to dig a bit. Perhaps there's an easier way of locating - anyone?
I’m not sure what fact sheet you’re referring to. However, when I got AFIB March 8th this year, I researched as much as I could to help guide my decision making. Attached is the result. ItS Stratified into 5 swimlanes horizontally and 4 pillars vertically. The green lines are the path I’m following. I’m currently in NSR after being in early persistent for a few months. I had PF / RF ablation May 25th at the Cleveland Clinic.
It's only a small item but I found taking the water bottle with the sports mouthpiece invaluable and easy to overlook.😊.
Absolutely. I was so pleased that I had read the fact sheet and took mine. My ward nurse said "ooh, that's a good idea". So simple, but so darned useful for those hours where you're laying flat on your back!
