Ablation due.

Morning all.I have had my Ablation date.Thursday 12 may.A cancellation. Bit anxious about it naturally.The thing is I know it's forQOL and most of the time I do most things I want.At night though it's a different matter.Constant pounding heart even tho I eat at 5.30 pm and getting up to wee literally every 2 hours all through the night till about 4 am.This reminds me I need it but still teetering.Any advice welcome.Thankyou.

The fact that you're having all that trouble at night is surely enough justification for you to go ahead Ethel! I've had 4 but still prevaricated at each one even though I've had 22 dccvs as well. I've no regrets and my last one was my most pleasant experience yet even though it lasted for hours. I had sedation but really was not aware of any discomfort, or if I was I've forgotten all about it 😅 . Go for it, sounds like you really need it !

Good luck, hope it's a success for you. My third ablation was a last minute one too. I was called on the Friday and had it the following Wednesday. Was the one that helped me most, so lets hope this one will help calm your AF.

Do it. Being woken up at night is poor for your health and well being all round. Think about a good night's sleep...

2nd. 1st didn't work properly because I wriggled apparently. They couldn't give me more analgesic because in relatively small.

Got my 2nd one in 10 days. It is daunting and entirely natural to be nervous. I certainly was first time round. Knowing what's coming is helpful this time.You've probably heard this before but really it's the thought of it thats the worst part.

They will look after you well and ensure you are not in pain or discomfort.

Had my RF ablation for PAF/AFlutter in October last year. Had a tricky couple of weeks afterwards but then everything settled down. I have had no further AF and have also adjusted to my higher than previous pulse rate. I was similarly daunted at the prospect of having the ablation but am very glad I went ahead. I realise not everyone has such a good outcome or experience but I would be happy to go through it all again if I had to.

I had my ablation about 6 weeks ago and the whole team at the hospital were great. It was a long day and at the end I was very tired, but the results have been amazing with no Afib and just some ectopic beats.

My recovery has also been as good as I could have hoped and I know I have been lucky. Just take it easy and hopefully you will have the same.
