So the migraines with aura have stopped thankfully although still getting headaches and got no energy and sometimes have ache in chest especially when take a deep breath. Last night I had the sound of rapid beats in my ear what I would describe like a machine gun fire which woke me up. I remember this feeling when I was first diagnosed with AF Nothing picked up on my HR monitor though. Does this sound like AF? Still on my medication although been told to stop the bisoprolol and Flecainide after week 2 post ablation which I’m nervous about. What’s your experiences after ablation?
1 week post ablation : So the migraines... - Atrial Fibrillati...
1 week post ablation
Hi Bailey - recovery is so variable from person to person it may not help you to hear others experiences. Focus on how you are and listen to your body - feeling tired - your body is saying rest. It is quite usual for your heart to react with bursts of fast HR or missed beats etc in the first few weeks, as explained in the Fact Sheet - recovering from ablation. No that doesn’t ‘sound’ like AF and I wouldn’t worry about it if it was at this stage. Many people do have episodes of AF following ablation during the first few weeks/months but then never again. Only time will tell how it has worked for you and you just can’t rush time.
All pretty much standard per our fact sheet. A week is nothing. Don't even think about it till two to three months down the line.
I kept on all drugs appreciated 3 mo ths u till post ablation review with EP, but stopped flecainide at EP request a few weeks earlier, presumably too see if I flipped back to AFib without it.
I has some rapidbeats also play ablation but only started over 3 months after. I presumed they were ectopics. Now 4 years later can't remember last time I had them- years I think . So don't worry yet
Mot medically trained.
Not a great one to say about Ablations had 3 and 9 CV still got IAF but I do have far too many other things going on that complicate everything. I stopped Bisoprolol and moved over to nebivolol (Spelling may be wrong) As it helped a little with my poor sleep. I have found all my Ablations quite fascinating as I am awake for all of them due to my Iodine allergy. All have worked and kept me on the straight and narrow but only for a month or three. But as I say I am complicated.
I hope it all goes well for you and if you are going to be awake while it all goes on ask for some nice premed.
Be Well
After being in constant AFib for 2 months, mine was probably done the same day as yours. While I'm also in low energy all the time I don't have any of the dramatic symptoms you do. I was told to do nothing but lay down for the first four days and the rest of the first week to stay home and do as little as possible. Also, not to lift anything over 4 lb. The only thing worth noting is that I did go into AFib for a few hours on day 4. After a week I had a pre-arranged meeting with my local cardiologist which was pretty uneventful. Since that brought me out of the house I then did some shopping for provisions at the market before driving home. This left me even more drained than I'd previously felt. The only other thing worth mentioning is that I normally work out at a gym five mornings a week. When I asked my cardiologist when I could start ramping up by doing mild workouts at the gym again he told me to wait a month. While this is disappointing I certainly don't have the energy to do this now.
Yes it’s frustrating isn’t it when your body can’t do what your brain is telling it too. I had more energy today, day 10 and managed 1km walk although HR was up at 152 for part of that although it was regular. I took it slow rest of the day. Noticed some groin pain last couple of days which never had last week, especially when I go to stand up and move after sitting a while. Feels very stiff. I’m so impatient but learning fast to take it slow and just listen to my body. Frozen my gym membership for next 2 months. Take it easy yourself, we’ll get there and hopefully stay out of AF which was much more draining. I also had been in persistent AF for several months when first diagnosed, really don’t want to go back there so I’ll take it the way I’m feeling just now and hopefully in a few weeks time will be on road to recovery 😊
I'm shocked that your heart rate went up so high. Are you on any rate drugs? I'd like to suggest that you at least let your cardiologist know about it.
