Well that’s 1 full week and 3 days since my 3rd ablation and everything was going well until I sat down yesterday with a glass of water and went into af and it was rapid which is unusual for me cause I’m once a month tops AF attacks and are always controlled, todays it’s been on and off all day...af one min sinus the next....has anyone else experienced this after ablation??

I haven’t had an ablation but have read so many people say it took several weeks for their heart to settle down. There is a three month blanking period I think. Others will give you more details but don’t worry

Hi

Had my 2nd ablation in feb. Yes I had a really bad 1st month with rapid bpm up to 242 bpm for the 1st month frequently. After the 1st month it has calmed down with just a few dizzy spells now. I like you was worried but it has settled now.

Hi Kaiser, as I'm sure you know, there is a blanking period of 3 to 6 months after an ablation when AF can occur so I would think the same applies, even after the 3rd ablation. I have only had one so far, and I certainly experienced some AF 2 weeks after and again 6 months and a few days after.

Hopefully others who have had 3 ablations will share their experiences, but try not to worry because stress doesn't help either!......I see you are into keep fit, hope you haven't been doing to much too quick.....best to do nothing for week one and not much more for week 2.

It may well settle down. If not contact your EP they might need to give you a cardioversion.

Early days so don’t give up yet.

I had similar experience. I started having AFIB 2 weeks post ablation. The episodes were worse than before ablation and more frequent.

My EP stated this was common and prescribed 300mg flecanaide which helped. The episodes started fading after a couple of weeks and I was taken off drugs 3 month post ablation.

I have been afib free for 6 months. Be patient and listen to your body. It should get better.

Good Luck!

Hi Kaiser, I have had 3 ablations too and after the last one I suffered from intermittent AF/Tachycardia then 2 months later went into persistent Tachycardia 120 BPM. At the time I was suffering a bad tooth infection which I had sorted over a number of weeks. All this was within 3 months of my ablation and I stayed Tachycardic for about 2 months and suddenly one day I realised I was in sinus rhythm and (touch wood) have stayed that way for 8 months, although I am suffering from some ventricular ectopics at the moment. All this is just to show you that anything can happen in the 1st 6 months, the heart has taken a battering after being invaded 3 times so try not to get too anxious and give yourself time to recover properly. If very worried talk to your arythmia nurse for advice. Best of luck to you.

This is my third for afib, and I’ve had two for aflutter, it’s really annoying and unpleasant, hope your optopic beats pass, I took magnesium spray for them and they cleared
