2 months post Ablation

And heart still behaving. Heart rate can still sometimes be higher than my norm at anything from 60-74, norm was around 58-65, but I know this is quite usual after ablation. Had a couple of unclassifieds and possible AF on my kardia but on looking at tracings properly it looks like it was ectopics causing the rogue readings! Am managing to walk 5k at quite a fast pace most days (whilst exercise is allowed) and feeling good, although feeling quite tired this evening as did walk, then lots of ironing and some gardening probably most activity I’ve done in a day since the ablation! Shows 2 months on and still recovering, but things going well. Take care everyone and stay well.

Sounds on track but you are still recovering so don't over do it.

Nice to have some good news!

Good stuff

Sounds good but don’t overdo it as you could undo all the good work. I’m still AF free since ablation in 2013.

Took almost a year for resting heart rate to go back to normal.

Very reassuring indeed.

Good News. Hope it all continues this way. Be careful not to overdo things its hard when we are all staying at home as you just bounce from one job to another so it would be easy to do too much.

Fantastic news

Long may it last

Can I ask how long you had paf for before the ablation. Did you try all the meds

This was my first ablation for AF, I previously had one for flutter in 2017 which lasted til August 2019. I saw my cardiologist in Sept 19 and it was confirmed I was in persistent AF, he referred me back to EP who I saw in November 19, he said as it was persistent he would try to get me in as soon as possible and he was true to his word and did the ablation in January. I’ve previously tried amiodarone back in 2016/17, had a cardio version in Jan 17 which lasted 2 weeks. Amiodarone made me feel awful and converted AF to flutter. Took it for 6 weeks before cardioversion and around 6 weeks after, was then taken off it. Was also on low dose 1.25 bisoprolol to keep heart rate down and Apixaban. 6 months After first ablation was taken off meds. When AF returned was put back on bisoprolol and Apixaban, also tried Flecainide but couldn’t get on with it, I just don’t get on with anti arrhythmics! Currently still on bisoprolol and Apixaban!

Hi, I’m still doing ok. Get some ectopics now and then but on the whole all going well and feeling much better than I did before ablation.. It will be 3 months on 23rd, not had follow up yet and given the current situation expect I’ll have to wait a while for that but should I have any problems I can contact arrhythmia nurse by phone or email, which is reassuring. Hope you’re doing ok.

I am on the same track as you. I don’t want the Amioderone as Flec put me in hospital. Just on calcium channel blocker. I have Dronederone to try but too scared in the current situation.

I await ablation but scared to put all my hopes on it 😁

I can understand your reluctance to take the Dronedarone, especially right now. I would never take Amiodarone again, although it is now stated on my notes that I am Amiodarone intolerant! That said, for some it works wonders! I honestly have to say that I was scared before both my ablations but the thought that things would/could be so much better after helped so much and I am so glad I had both and should I need to, I wouldn’t hesitate to have another! If you have any questions about my ablations just ask as it helps to hear from others who have been through it!

Thank you

I will ask. Are you still free if the beast? Hope so!! How long?

Did the Dronedatonr help you?

At the moment I’m free, will be 3 months on the 23rd but I do know that it could come back at any time! I didn’t take dronedarone just Amiodarone which didn’t help me at all, just made me feel horrible, very sensitive to light and strong lights in shops etc and also gave me chronotropic incompetence which is basically the inability of the heart to adjust to different circumstances eg exercise etc and gave me atrial flutter!
