Sorry people I know I’ve just posted on here at this ungodly hour but on top of the last post my watch has just alerted me that my heart rate fell below 40 , is that dangerous as I’m not sure , maybe I should just stay on normal dose of meds . It seems hard coming off them .

Me again
Below 40 you have a good chance of passing out. Take your pulse manually and if is really below 40 you need a med adjustment or a pacemaker. It would be nice to have EKG reading. If you are in 3rd degree heart block, you need a+e.
Thank you, I’ve had awful night , how can halving meds make you feel so rotten. I’ve upped the dose this morning and will halve it again tonight and see if that’s better, maybe it was too fast to soon. The 40 HR only registered once then went back up, this morning it’s high.
How are you now? Probably too fast dropping meds but I also had a crash recently on HR due to low BP and dehydration. Resolved by meds adjust. Best wishes
Sometimes you get a random slow beat reading on your watch or Kardiamobile. If it doesn't stay there I'd be inclined not to worry but send the reading to your arrhythmia nurse. I do get cross about them insisting you lower to what they think of as the next dose down. I chose to cut one of my pills in half using a pill cutter and it works for me. Even though the 'lowest effective' dose pf Flecainide is 50mg. If you're on 200mg a day why not try dropping to 150? Up to you when you take the lower dose depending on whether you tend to kick off during the day, when you're active, or the evening.
Your body - choose what's best for you and take the time you need.
Hi, I was on 1.25 bisoprolol twice daily and 100 flecainide twice daily, for the past five days I take bisoprolol once a day in the morning and 50 flecainide twice a day. I’m having break throughs a bit but I’m thinking this might be my body adjusting to it, I’m hoping my body will get used to this dose , I’m not sure how long it takes for your body to settle to a new dose. If after three weeks it’s not settled then I will go back up to the original dose. It’s like the blood thinners the nurse said edoxoban won’t do a lot for me and to go back on apixaban , I did not understand why this is . I do feel a bit low over all this but maybe again it could be the lower dose of meds making me feel this way.
I too get this from time to time, but typically I find that if I check into it using the Apple Watch ECG function then the actual rate is nothing like the low one indicated. This is also quite reassuring to do in real time! I think it usually happens if there is a short run of ectopic beats or the strap moved a bit or similar, but again, in my experience, I would echo the view that an odd reading like this every now and again is nothing to be concerned about.
