After two years without a cough or cold, I had flu like symptoms at the weekend and tested positive for CV this week. I'm on day five and things are getting easier and no problems with ectopics or AF.

Snap! I tested positive on Wednesday. Been really poorly with it. A few ectopics but nothing too bad there. They don’t warn you about the diarrhoea though, and this could have impact on retaining medication! Longing to stop coughing and not feeling light headed. Can honestly say I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. And this is after three jabs 😢

🙁I had it Jan 14th, but did really well actually, extreme runny nose and mild sore throat, no cough, no fever etc. I felt blessed, had the two vaccines. My EP Dr recommended still getting the booster, but to wait 2-3 months. I would just say, imagine if you did not get vaccinated. Hope you sail through getting over it. 🦋

I was the same in Oct. Weak as a kitten for a month. I had to have meds to stop the squits as nothing stayed for more than 2-3 mins so meds didn’t have a chance & that was dangerous for me. The ONLY thing I could retain or could drink was liquidised watermelon. Even the nutrition drinks the GP prescribed didn’t work. Do ring your GP earlier rather than leave it.

Fortunately I had some Imodium in the cupboard so dosed up with them and today seems much better. Drinking plenty of water to try to stay hydrated and flush the bug through. Very weak still…..

We’re being told here we’ll all get the new strain because it’s 80% more transmissible. Like flu each year I do everything to dodge it. Glad you’re ok. Get well soon. Keep us all posted on your progress/symptoms. Have they told you what strain you have?

They don't tell you in the UK. They will only say that the test was positive. I'm feeling much better, but a bit run down with an itchy throat. 5 days left on my isolation countdown clock.

Remember the new rules say that from day 5 if you have two consecutive negative results you need no longer isolate. Hope you’re improving

Likewise, but it was a breeze, just like a mild cold. And there was no worsening of AF. I say this not to sound smug, but to offer reassurance for those of you yet to catch it. For the fully vaccinated, chances are you'll be fine. Fingers crossed for all.

Ditto in my world, omicron, for the vaccinated has been “less than a cold” for family and friends. Unfortunately for my sister who has asthma and SVT...and refused the jab (Dr. Fakebook strikes again) and almost died. It took her 2 months to recover, and 6 months later she is still not back to her normal. Stay vigilant folks, apparently, another wave is on the way. It’s on your side of the pond...so far, but It’s just a 5 hour flight away from our shores.Stay safe all!

I that case it is highly unlikely she had Omicron as it was not notified by South Africa as a VOC till the end of November and did not start spreading to the rest of the world to any degree till mid Dec. It is far more likely she had Delta.

Correct...it was Delta. Her husband had omicron and wasn't nearly as bad. He was in hospital for a week, dehydrated, weak and a had time breathing, but he was grateful they didn't have to be intubated. After 2 weeks he was back to normal, so ya, quite a difference between the 2.

A couple of our friends have tested positive too. Hope you get better soon. Our grandsons are on the way from the US to pay us a flying visit on their way to Rome so we have all tested and are negative - I do hope we don’t all pass it around over the weekend.

On the morning of my 3rd jab I did a lateral flow test as I'd woken in the night feeling excessively hot, all was fine so had my jab that afternoon (a Friday in December). That very evening my nose and eyes ran constantly, this continued for the next two following days and I couldn't go out. The following day (Monday) I awoke feeling normal, no sign of a cold whatsoever. I could kick myself for not doing another LTF test. So I don't know if that was C or not. Since supplementing with vitamin D I hadn't had a cold for several years. Did anyone else have similar?

Griffin what are your symptoms and were you taking any vitamins? Had you received all of your jabs?

It's a bit of a puzzle and depends on how long the incubation period is. It appears to be between 2 and 14 days according to the internet.

We travelled to Somerset on Saturday and I had a bad headache all night, but assumed it was from the drive.

I felt the affects more on Sunday and Monday with a high temperature and on Tuesday I started to cough. My wife also started feeling ill on Monday. I managed to get a walk in test on the Wednesday.

I've had my 3 jabs and haven't taken vitamins for several months.

My granddaughter had it and she was told she could go back to work after having two negative lateral flow tests. Unfortunately her second test was positive, much to her annoyance.

Glad to hear you’ve got no problems. Thanks for sharing. It got me too yesterday and I’ve been wondering how others are faring with this variant. I’m taking it easy, so far it’s not affected my heart at all 🤧🙄😊

Everyone seems to have it at the moment. My daughter got it 2 weeks ago and I came down with it last Sunday.

In spite of us both having a couple of unpleasant days of coughing, headache etc, we were both delighted to get it, as her wedding is next Saturday. Thankfully, we should both be well clear by then and bursting with antibodies! The ticker seems to have behaved ok - although my husband had to suffer my usual moans about being unable to take aspirin or ibuprofen and paracetamol being useless for me.

I have done everything I can to avoid it. When I have to go out I mask up and take my sanitiser. I am in self-imposed lockdown and don't socialise. I only go out for medical appointments. I have two of those forthcoming. I live alone with 3 feline companions. My food is ordered online from my local supermarket. The worst of my ailments- permanent AF, Asthma, BPH, Lymphoedema, posterior capsule opacity of one eye, and right foot drop - is right foot drop which means I can't drive any more. One medical appointment would be 35 minutes by car but is over 2 and a half hours by buses, including much waiting in an airy bus station.I don't want Covid in any strain.

I'm almost back to normal now and isolation period has ended. All that's left is some tiredness, a little bit of a stuffy nose and a tickly cough. Surprisingly the cough doesn't affect me when I'm sleeping, which is unusual. My wife is a couple of days behind me.It's a lovely day to sit in the garden.
