Hi All

Well , so far so good ….

Other than the groin being understandably tender and a minor bit of breathlessness now and then the last 2 days have been no change and all is good .

However my wife has woken up this morning and tested positive for Covid 🤦‍♂️.

This has now got me a little concerned .

Should I run and stay with someone else until she’s clear or will the recent ablation hold no additional risks for me should I catch it from her ??

Selfishly Slightly concerned on what’s best for me to do as I don’t want to jeopardise the procedure .

I have no other ailments that put me at risk if I got Covid so it’s merely the fact of catching it a week after the procedure that I’m concerned about .

Oh bad luck but I wouldn’t panic. Have you told the Arrythmia clinic that did the ablation and asked advice from them? Are you vaccinated? If so you should have good immune response.

General advice - Stay as isolated as you can, separate rooms. If she has it you more than likely that you will have already been exposed. Open windows and ensure really good ventilation, especially when in same room and do all the usual precautions, mask, hygiene etc and test yourself regularly and speak to your doctor.

I’ve had COVID with AF & Autoimmune and came through. I now have instant access to the new viral drugs if I test positive again and with the amount of COVID around, albeit the version showing much milder symptoms for most, I don’t see how any of us can avoid exposure if we go out of our houses, especially since restrictions have been lifted.

To be fair you may not even catch it, my daughter has had covid twice, the delta version last year when she was quite ill and omicron this year where it was more like a cold and both times no one else in the household caught it from her!

Hi, that's a bit alarming isn't it? I'm a day behind you with my RF ablation for AF and husband announced he'd a sore throat and stuffy nose plus brain fog this morning. EEK. He's tested negative today but I'm still wearing a NFP95 mask any time he comes near me. Definitely let the hospital know. Can you and your wife manage at home otherwise? I'm which case just be sensible.

If it's any comfort one member of this forum was ablated about 6 weeks ago, came home with COVID and is now recovered from it and their ablation recovery is progressing.

I would isolate in the house if you can, wear a mask when leaving your area and use lots of hand sanitizer and Lysol. Good luck yo you and your wife.
