Hi all
Hopefully this won’t bore you all but seeings how you guys have been so great to me over the last 10 months since I found out I had AF and a flutter I thought I would share my experience of the procedure .
So March 3rd ,9.30am at St Barts and I’m already sitting outside the lab waiting to go in . Every member of staff has been absolute superb .
I meet Professor Pierre Lambrosie outside ( still in his cycle stuff lol ) and what a great guy he is and in we go .
Sit on the bed and there must have been 8 people in the lab looking after me .
Lay down and the sedation is given , I’m not totally asleep and can answer questions etc , your aware of what’s happening but the time just flew (2.5 hours )
It was a seamless process and yes a bit of brain freeze at times and I bit off when they make you hiccup for a bit but my god they were brilliant and nothing unpleasant at all and if you need you more sedation you ask the bar lady for more G&T and she happily obliged at no extra cost lol .
After the procedure it was back to the ward where I was looked after like I was in a Hotel , I can’t praise the staff enough .
Then I had a slight hiccup as my heart rate went to 137 and wouldn’t come down , this did mean as precaution I had to stay in overnight but 5mg of Bisoporol and one of my 100mg of Flecanide and I’m writing this to this morning looking at HR of 61 .
Yes my chest feels a bit tight and it’s slightly awkward when I breathe in through the mouth ( don’t breath in through mouth Matt)
Other than that I will be going home today to rest and milk it when I’m home lol .
Any questions then please ask I would love to be of assistance if I can .
I will send updates as and when and keep you all informed
Thanks
Matt
