Matt’s Cryoblation and Atrial Flutter procedure : Diary : Day 33 after Procedure

Hi All

Well I guess the reason I may be in AF for last 24 hours is the fact I have Covid ?

Hopefully being in AF so soon after the procedure will have no effect on the overall outcome of the procedure .

I don’t feel that bad but I guess the Covid could be the reason I’m in AF

Thanks

Matt

Oh Matt sorry to hear that. That’s more than likely the trigger.

Get well soon.

Bad luck. I haven't read anywhere of a connection between the two, but it sounds likely. Let's hope you're over it soon.

If you have had the vaccines, by the way, I read yesterday that it's a good idea to have a pulse oximeter to hand to keep a check of your blood O2. Keeping an eye on oxygen levels is important if the covid begins to feel a bit severe.

Hi Matt,I have COVID at the moment.First day of symptoms I was definitely Tachy but now just persistent AF and that wasn't too good before COVID.Covid is stopping me doing things I intended for self help on my failed cv.Back to your question. When paroxysmal an infection like COVID would have put me into AF.

Hi All

I don’t feel bad with the Covid

( just a bad cold and a bit heady)

My fear is that being in AF for a long period of time is damaging my chances of the blanking period working as it’s only 4 works since my Cryoblation .

Does being in AF so soon after the procedure restrict the blanking success ?

Thanks

Matt

It sounds like Covid indeed set off your a-fib. You're in the very early stages of the blanking period, that frequent runs of a-fib are common and that they don't affect the outcome of the procedure. Sending healing thoughts your way!
