I was diagnosed with AF last April and had to have emergency ablation done in April.

So everything happened very quickly and so so scary at the time. But now I understand it all or as best I can better and that makes it easier to come to peace with it or learn to deal with it in a different way.

Was hoping the ablation would work like magic (but very aware that it doesn’t always work the first time) BUT it has definitely helped somewhat as i do feel a bit better(have had few episodes when trying to come of drugs) but the decision was made to have another ablation now (waiting for the appointment confirmation) For a little retouch as the EP said it( so hopefully nothing more then that)🤞

But I wanted to ask regarding travel insurance and having the AF diagnose?

Does anyone have any good tips regarding that? As I do have to travel a bit due to my work here and there but mostly short trips, but would like to know that if something ever did happen that I was safe in that sense being Abel to go to see a dr or a hospital if needed when out of the uk.

All Clear and Staysure are often recommended. A few years ago, when doing a search I found that the Post Office were the most reasonable

I’ve never had a problem and the excess for just AF has been minimal - far more for age though - sadly.

Insurance is more expensive when you are waiting fir procedures or have been to hospital recently.

If travelling for work then the company you work for should have appropriate insurance in place.

+1 for StaySure. I have an annual policy with them, and they have given me a free extension of three months as we have not been able to travel during the pandemic. (With family in Sweden,Italy and Germany, we live in hope!)

As DevonHubby1 has said if you are travelling for work then you should be covered on company insurance, unless you are self employed of course. Not sure how you would be covered if you are a subcontractor.

More interested in Stroke Embollic, blood thinners, and taking Thyroxin after having thyroidectomy and starting synthetic thyroxin replacement hormones.

If you answer the ?s and then don't want it covered is better if you can or pay the extra and state of mine.

Difficult but it will be in your medical records.
