Need some advice, have a two lead pacemaker (4years)
Now advised to have an A V. Node ablation. Seeing the cardiologist on Thursday at Barts.
Open heart surgery for mitral valve repair (18 years)
June of last year diagnosed with Polymyagia, and taking steroids, now reducing them, hoping this will improve. From my results of my echo and pacemaker readings show things are not so good, hence the thoughts for an ablation.
Taking Apixaban, Ramipril, digoxin, Lipitor, and prednisone
Any advice would be appreciated..

I hope this may be of help. I had a mitral valve replacement 25 years ago. Subsequently developed AF, I had several ablations to no avail, finally AV node ablation and a two lead pacemaker implanted. The was two years ago, 6 months ago my device was upgraded to a CRT as the ventricles needed to be paced plus my ejection fraction had dropped. Personally it is all about quality of life, the af stopped for nearly five months, it is back at the moment, but the hope is that it will stop again of its own accord. Life is not perfect, but it is certainly much better than it was, and with a change in meds to entresto, dapagliflozin, bisoprolol, inspra and the ever-present warfarin, the hope is that the ejection fraction will rise. Incidentally my EP is also works from Barts. Whatever you decide I wish you well.
Good afternoon, male 76 here and have had av node and pacemaker last Aug, so far has been without too many issues. Search still goes on to find cause(s) of myself fainting, once, plus I passed out on the golf course which was quite different to the fainting.
Thank you for your reply, also 76 had no fainting but often lately been feeling of balance . Also energy levels low at times.they are telling me my ejection levels at 39 . This is down from 49 at the last scan .I’m thinking perhaps the ablation my be my only option.
