Hi. Being Asthmatic as well as Having PAF I have taken every precaution possible to avoid contracting Covid but get it I did. Thank goodness for my 3 vaccines. It was a pretty rough ride being Asthmatic and a 9 hour episode of AF thrown in but I came out the other side without having to go to AE. I had an emergency pack of steroids in to help my breathing and used Bisoprolol as PIP. It helped that my Son is a Medic so he kept an eye on me. I feel so lucky and I must say relieved to at last be feeling better. I check in on this Forum every Day but rarely make any comments , its been such a help over my 6 year journey with AF. Thank you all so much. Happy Christmas all of you and stay COVID FREE πx

So glad to hear you have got over it all. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND HAPPY NEW YEAR. Hopefully things can only get better - but we were saying that this time last year so you never know things may get worse before they can get better, just keep on doing all the good things.
It really is so random isn't it. I do wonder if anybody is right about how it spreads?
So glad you are recovered in time for Christmas so do enjoy.
A cautionary tale Nerja but so pleased to hear that got over the plague in time for Christmas. Have a great time over the holidaysβ¦β¦..
And you Flapjack. Between you and Bob ive received a lot of good advice over the years . π
The saying it never rains, but it pours comes to my mind re your covid and AF experience Nerja. So glad it's all behind you now and how lucky are you to have a son who's a medic. Have a lovely Christmas and stay well now.
Jean
Jean, As you have had Covid like me could I ask you please if you experienced more AF symptoms upon recovery. I do appreciate that your Covid experience was a lot worse than mine. I ask because last night I experienced 4 episodes of Tachycardia /Flutter, to be honest I don't know what it was, it's happened before in clusters and I was told in Cardiology that it was AF associated. It's a very scary experience, worse I think than AF although thankfully it doesn't last long once the heart has quietened down. After the 4th episode I took an extra Bisoprolol propped myself up in bed and thankfully that was it. I would imagine the Heart wouldn't be too pleased about Covid as I had a 9 hour episode when the Covid was at its peak after going months with . Many thanks Jean hope I'm not a bother π
I haven't had covid. CDreamer has.
So Sorry for that Jean Jeannie, Silly me. Maybe CREAMER will see my post. Enjoy Christmas π
It's CDreamer this message will alert her to yours. X
Thank you π
Hi yes, Iβve had a lot of tachycardia, PVCs & Ectopics since COVID in early October. Itβs not something I worry about as it happens after infection of any kind. I had bacterial pneumonia with COVID so the antibiotics also had an effect. I canβt take any meds for heart so just live with it but still canβt lie on my left side at night because of the constant pounding which keeps me awake. I think it will take months to truly settle.
Arenβt we lucky to survive though - talked to my sister yesterday who is a UCI nurse - all the cases they have in at the moment are people unvaccinated so thank goodness we caught it after vaccination!
Thank you for the reply to my post CDreamer. Its encouraging to hear your comments. I followed your Story when you where ill , it must have been very scary for you but thank goodness you came out the other side. Without the vaccines for both of us it might have been a differant story. The episodes that you have do sound similar to mine . It makes sence that all off this should eventually pass . Covid is no walk in the Park is it. I wish you a very Happy Christmas and thank you for the support πx
Glad you are recovering - itβs hard balancing multiple conditions. Take care and have a lovely time with your daughter. We are currently visiting my son and family and itβs been such a lift to spend time with them. Merry Christmas.
Glad you are over the wost - stay safe
Apart from your having to suffer and be frightened by this evil virus, what a truly lovely and inspiring post that was to read. Thank you for writing it and I am so glad that you are recovered. My brother and his wife are risking things by not being vaccinated - imagine that! Our town is a hotspot at present, too.
Steve
Thanks so much for that Steve, I Have a Childhood Friend who like your Brother and his Wife refused to be vaccinated and as well refused to wear a Mask, when questioned she said she was exempt which she wasn't, that Friend is now fighting for her life in Hospital , who knows if she will make it or not. Let's hope your relatives don't end up the same way. Happy Chritmas π
Goodness me, I hope she recovers well. If my brother read your post, I expect that he'd have some reason to poo-poo it. He's indefatigable in his views, I'm sad to say.
He's never been the brightest but now he thinks he's an expert on all things virus related. Facebook has been his undoing in my view, reinforcing his strange new conspiracy beliefs.
Steve
Steve, Your Brother would love to have a chat with my Friend, they sound exactly the same, . It's people's choice if they want to be vaccinated or not but I think wearing a Mask is another issue, we used to meet up regularly for a coffee but because I'm vunerable with my asthma it had to stop. She refused Sanitizer and Social distance as well . All we can do is protect ourself , I did but I still got it. Without the vaccines it could have been a differant Story.
Well, the year's almost over and I do hope you'll feel well enough by the end of this week to enjoy Christmas and then to see in the New Year. Can it really be 2-0-2-2 already? Is that even possible?!?
Steve
Thank you . Best wishes for 2020 Steve π
Very good! π
My brother tells me there was once a machine invented by a guy called Nikola Tesla that would have been able to do all kinds of wonderful things for humanity. Of course, the Illuminati have hidden it from us! I wonder whether it would have been able to take us back a few years!?! π
Steve
Does he believe there are microchips in the vaccines to track us? That seems one of the more way out beliefs.
Yes,, sadly, I have a relative in the states who gets her medical and health advice from Dr. Facebook. She is asthmatic and has SVT, and her claim for not protecting herself and others is *drum roll* "my doctor advised against it" .... right? π
I expect that it always was a funny old world but Facebook can be a showcase for foolishness. Microchips in the vaccine pales in comparison to some of their beliefs.
Steve
My goodness what a packet of things Γ½ou had to deal with. So glad you have come through it and are feeling better in time for Christmas Day. π
So glad you are recovering. Did you use a steroid inhaler as preventative for your asthma before getting covid? I assume you took an oral steroid when ill. Wishing you a Happy Christmas - hope you can leave the work to others!
Yes I did Auriculaire , Ive used one for 30 years, asthma isnt a problem except at times like this. I have had emergency steroids in the cupboard for 2 years and as it was a weekend when my breathing got worse i decided to take them. I honestly think thats what saved me from being Hospitalised. It will make a change someone else doing Christmas Dinner , its only because MAM isnt well π have a good one yourself π
Good to hear you are over the virus. I hope you can now relax and have a very HAPPY CHRISTMAS &NEW YEAR. Xx
