3 months post ablation…..

Good morning from Texas…in the attempt to give us a new topic (without searching to see if it has already been discussed ad nauseam)…

I’m 3 months post ablation with no Afib…hooray…but I have a 30-40 bpm heart rate jump when I get up in the night to visit the bathroom. After I snuggle back in bed it drops back down pretty quick. Anyone else experience that? Alarming at first since I thought it was start of an Afib episode….it’s become my new norm.

I have my final check in with my EP next week and will discuss with him. Discontinued Diltiazem on procedure date. At 60 day checkup, they said blood thinner was my choice to continue or not with Chads score of 2(female and 68). They indicated they would discontinue my propafenone at this visit

You all are the best! Thanks for all your insight into the world of Afib.

Janie

Yes, sometimes. Advice has been not to leap out of bed but sit up slowly, stand up slowly, etc 🦥

Good afternoon to you in Texas Janie. When we go from laying in bed to standing up our hearts have to beat harder to get the blood around, so always expect it to pump harder when moving and rising. As we grow older our bodies aren't so quick at doing that and sometimes people can go dizzy because they get out of bed too quickly. The answer is to sit on the bed for a moment or so before standing. You say your heart rate returns to normal quickly after returning to bed so all sounds fairly normal.

My sister lives in Rockwall, just outside of Dallas. She also lived near Austin many years ago.
