There I was stupidly? thinking I was on the road to recovery. Have been feeling really well and heart been in rhythm since Christmas. Then bam out of the blue my heart goes into fast afib last Wednesday and hasn’t stopped since. Not quite sure what I should do as I’m already on medication and really no point going to A&E but I’m back to not sleeping and feeling rough and washed out. Is this normal after such an amount of time.? I’ve tried everything to get back in rhythm but to no avail. I honestly didn’t think this would happen. Any advice from you lovely people will be greatly received. Thanks

Morning, I'd go get checked anyway. I was doing great recovery wise until about the same, 3 months in, then went into flutter, heart rate basically sat at 140bpm, felt awful and didn't realise what it was. Actually went on holiday like that after being given OK by triage doctor locally, but just felt rubbish even more so while away . Got hardly any sleep, restless, chest heavy and tired out doing simple things.
Diagnosed with flutter and quickly cardio inverted, that fixed it immediately, and been OK since. Be on safe side I'd get it checked ASAP, as flutter is very common after ablation, my EP told me afterward they see it very regularly , and I should of gone earlier.
Maybe not the same, could be just misbehaving, but, I'd definitely get in and have it checked as it's an easy fix, or it puts strain on the heart.
Ian.
I would contact your EP or AF nurse and let them know you've slipped back into AF, in the hope that they will arrange to have you cardioverted back into normal sinus rhythm.

I think you should contact the hospital where you had the ablation. Did they give you contact details, perhaps an arrhythmia nurse you can get in touch with. It’s still early days, but the sooner you get back into rhythm, the better. They may consider a CV which would be good, or prescribing a Pill in Pocket such as Flecainide...........

Speak to the arrhythmia nurse where you had the ablation asap. If you were not gioven her number then sepak to your EPs secretary. Sounds like you need a cardioversion which can be done any time if you aer still on anticogulation.
I am sure many on this forum would recommend a trip to A&E which is famous for magically restoring sinus rhythm as soon as you go through the entrance! My son is an A&E doctor and he says it happens all the time!
I agree that it is time to speak with the EP or nurse. Apart from anticoagulant were you on any rate control or rhythm control drugs after the a late. My EP was pretty clear on that I stopped them all on the day of the ablation which made me nervous but touch wood ....
I'm having a similar experience, though I have atrial tachycardia. Sat waiting in A&E for my third cardioversion since Christmas at the moment.
The first two occurred job at within the blanking period of 3 months. Third time's the cha, and my cardiologist will now schedule a second ablation to fix it.
It's always a possibility that this happens, hopefully yours will stick in NSR after a cardioversion, it takes a while for the scars to form properly.
Take care
Contact your afib nurses ASAP. I found mine very helpful xx
Not uncommon...see your EP as soon as possible, the fight is not lost yet!
