I take bisoprolol 1.25 morning and night and 60mg edoxaban in the morning. I feel ok apart from constant itching all over. Any advice would be appreciated.
Kind regards. Joe

It does not sound like a bisoprolol side effect. There must be other factors involved. An allergy somewhere perhaps...
Itching and intermittent thouugh regular rashes is a known side effect of beta blockers. It is deemed to be a "very rare", which means it affects between 1 and 9 people in every 10,000 who take a beta blocker. Although I had had AF for 22 years, I had never been prescribed any beta blockers, until my heart rate went over 190 bpm during an operation to remove my appendix.
A hospital doctor put me on 2.5mg daily of Bisoprolol.
7 weeks later, on a Christmas Eve, the itching started. The first GP I saw didn't believe it was caused by the beta blocker. The second GP I saw, who had dermatology qualifications recognised it as caused by the beta blockers and weaned me off them. She also prescribed an antihistamine, ceterizine hydrochloride, which worked for me. 4 years later I still get the itching from time to time and so usually take 10-20mg of ceterizine a day. I buy it over the counter.
My medical records show that beta blockers cause problems so I'm not on them. As my heart rate is only just outside normal rates I don't take the alternative calcium channel blockers either.
I get loads of itching as well especially on my forearms. So much so that taking anticoagulants I keep coming up in those horrible red blood blotches on my arms. I try my hardest not to scratch and put itch cream on, but no help. I did mention it to my doctor and his reply......have you changed your washing powder....Nooooo !!!Hope you find a remedy. All the best
Same happened to my husband . As soon as he discontinued the Bisoprolol it went away.
