Please don't worry Janna it is very early days ! And...naughty girl, you have not been reading the ablation fact sheets 🤔 ! Your heart has alot of settling down to do over the 3 month blanking period so you can expect all sorts . I had this during the first 2 weeks after my last ablation but they were short lived and I knew they were to be expected.Do read the AF Association ablation fact sheets and you will feel much more reassured.
Your heart needs time to heal and create scars for the ablation to work longer term which is why the ‘blanking’ period is something like 12 weeks to know whether or not 1 ablation was sufficient. Many people need a ‘touch up’ for areas which were missed but that cannot not be determined this early in the process. Hang on in there and in the meantime pace yourself to give the best chance of maintaining NSR.
Hi Janna, I'm recalling my first ablation six years ago ! The first few months there were breakthroughs of AF . Eventually all settled down and I enjoyed a practically Afib free existence! Occasionally, I had bouts which were brought on by on by my own doing in later years😬🙄.
It's very early days for you. Please don't stress you are still healing . ❤
After my second ablation in April, the two weeks following it were a-fib free. However after that, weeks 3 through 5, I had a few short episodes. This is completely normal during the three-month, post-ablation blanking period.
Don’t worry janna, this can happen. Don’t forget your heart has been messed around with, takes a few months to settle down. I experienced the same problem 100 bpm. For a while took a propranolol has not reoccurred.
