It can happen Kia - knocks you about a bit when it does but it's part of life for us afibbers.
Sit tight / relax / don't watch the news / try and have a good nights kip / keep hydrated and know that it's likely to pass soon.
That's easy for me to say I know as I go in panic mode when it happens. Don't be disappointed as it rears it head from time to time.
Keep us updated - I think you'll find this ' afib kick in' will pass. Has your doc given you a PIP ? If so maybe now is the time to take it.
I think you'll be OK
I'll follow the thread to see how you get on.
Paul
Hi Paulbounce
No pip and in last 5 weeks lowered Bisoprolol from 10mg to 5mg
on arrhythmia nurses guidance. I know it's still early days and blips can occur, let's hope that's what it is. I'll update with length of episode when it passes
Sure Kia. Maybe you could contact your arrhythmia nurse about the drop in Bisoprolol ?Blips do indeed occur - hope it's short lived for you.
For me sleep helps immensely - try and get some good kip tonight.

Are you on medication? know how you feel. I went into v fast af the morning following my 1st ablation so had to have cardioversion in the afternoon. Stayed in hospital 3 nights as I felt so poorly. 2nd ablation 3months ago as my hr was 150-180 went in as planned under ga this time went much better. But, 6 weeks later went into af which really disappointed me. Better now after adjusting meds but still get odd af runs. Others on here have said ablation isn't always the cure we hope for but, it does (for me) lessen the symptoms. Do let us know how you get on & hope you feel better soon. The unpredictability of af is an ongoing challenge for many of us
Hi Gowers medication is 5mg Bisoprolol, down from 10mg,and 5mg Apixaban twice daily. Also was on Ameprazole for heartburn but arrhythmia nurse said I could also stop taking it.
All back to normal, 7 hours of just sitting down and waiting for it to pass. Hope this isn't a portent of things to come.
Is this a shorter time than you would be in af before ablation? Hope you feeling better now?
Hi Kia, sorry to hear about your current predicament/uncertainty. My ablation was early Dec, I suffered horribly for 3.5 months post ablation, and booked in for 2nd ablation. The Procedure has been delayed due to the virus, but in the meantime, I’ve suddenly been AF clear for over 6 weeks now, and wondering whether I should now say no to 2nd ablation!! Still have short periods of ectopics but nothing has developed into full blown episodes.
Like yourself, confusion reigns. Nobody knows how long these good periods will last, and when the next episode will happen! Hope it was just a blip for you!
Take care.
Chris
Hi,
I also had a cryo ablation in December, just before Christmas. The first 3 weeks were worse than anything I'd experienced before the procedure, almost daily episodes lasting from half an hour to many hours before self resolving.
In the 2 years since I'd been diagnosed my AF would randomly start with mild symptoms self resolving in less than 24 hours and more often than not weeks or even months apart between them. Like you I felt totally healthy and fit most of the time so was not overly concerned just anxious about the future and what it meant for my health.
After the first 3 weeks the episodes subsided but still occurred randomly and more noticeable than before the ablation. At 8 weeks I spoke to my EP who suggested 1.25mg Bisoprolol but after a couple of weeks I felt so tired and with a HR of around 48 I stopped taking them. My AF episodes still came and went, roughly a couple of weeks in between each, but usually quite short, under 8 hours and manageable.
At 12 weeks my EP called to review me and suggested using a 7 day monitor which was posted out from the hospital and last week I sent it back for reporting and am currently awaiting a call. In the last week I've had one short 6 hour AF episode but now I'm getting daily ectopics on and off which is mildly unsettling but I'm told is common after an ablation.
I've had some very comforting and informative advice on this site so please keep updating us here on your journey as we all benefit from others experiences. I think it's a long road we are on and this is just the start of it. Stay safe 😊
Thanks to all who have replied. I will certainly keep you updated. Received a hospital appointment today for a follow up appointment on July 7th at the Freeman hospital Newcastle, if we are still in lock down the it will probably be a telephone conversation with arrhythmia nurse. That will be the 7th month post ablation.
