I had Afib 18 months ago. I don't take any tablets and haven't had it since but we all all different and what works for one person doesn't mean it will for another
Normal depends on your own perception of what you want it to be. At 76 my life is not the same "normal" as it was when I was 36 but still preferable to any alternative.
Yes, I am just on Flecainide and lead at 67 the sort of life someone could expect to do without the AF diagnosis. It is not the life I personally would have led but is probably a healthier option. I hope that makes sense.
At 73 I am still playing tennis and golf. I have been taking Flecainide and verapamil for the last 13 years. I had an ablation nearly 4 years ago so now only take a low dose of above.
Normal is very relative - if you are asking can the right mix of pills/ medications cure you of afib then I think the experts would say that at this point in time pretty unlikely. However, the right medications in the right doses for for the right person as part of a comprehensive treatment strategy (including lifestyle changes) can help stabilize the condition and provide long periods of relative heart stability.
