I have no experience to offer, but would always advise consulting a pharmacist (even on a Sunday somewhere near-ish to you will be open - if you are in the UK) on any matter concerning medications and their interactions. You can probably phone up rather than actually visiting.

Can only give my personal experience...contracted Norovirus on cruise ship two years ago and was given regular doses of Imodium from ships doc. I also exceeded dose to get home from Southampton unscathed ( one way of putting it 😁....) and live to tell the tale

Hi Vonnie

Hope you're ok ... long time no speak 😊

Put it like this, I wouldn't worry at all about taking Immodium or equivalent (much cheaper versions out there!). Hope you don't catch the bug x

Oh I really hope so Edm x You deserve a better year and more!

I'm ok thanks but just started a chesty cold and can only risk taking Paracetamol - decongestants are a no no I know!

That's good that you're having the monitor fitted, it all helps in the long run.

Will be thinking of you sunning yourself in Oz, hope you have a really fabulous time. And will be thinking of you both on the 4th. Let me know eh? x

Oh no, are you still on 12 hour shifts or is that just temporary? I do hope you'll be ok on Tuesday - long day if you're not feeling 100%. If I was you I wouldn't go in if you're not right. Otherwise (if it was me) I'd keep a few loperamide capsules in my handbag just in case!! Take care and stay well you x

Vonnie :-) I am going to go against the majority here , if your daughter has a tummy bug and you catch it I would not take imodium in fact I wouldn't use Imodium at all for a tummy bug.

It works by slowing down the movement of the gut , with a tummy bug it is best to get rid of the bug not to slow down its progress.

If you get a tummy bug best to speak to a Dr or a pharmacist.

I had Norovirus last Christmas and spent a night on the bathroom floor wrapped in a duvet . I didn't take anything and my greatest worry was not being able to keep anything down and missing a whole day of Apixaban. I am still here as you see but it was not an experience I wish to repeat.

That's what was worrying me really The thought of my meds not staying in system long enough to be absorbed into my system

Vonnie :-) luckily most of us don't get tummy bugs very often and just have to do the best we can when we do. I thought about the people on here who stopped their medication to have an operation and that made me feel better.

Try not to worry about it before it happens :-)

Hi Vonnie. Hope you don't get the tummy bug. I had one earlier this year and was scared to take anti-diarrhoea tablets. I let it run it's course but felt like death warmed up! So I understand your concern x

I'm having more tests. One this week where you're injected with some sort of liquid that sets off airport alarms!! And I've got to stay away from babies and pregnant women for 24 hours!! I'm desperately looking for a Giger counter on Amazon 😁😁
