Taking a blood pressure tablet as well a beta blocker

Dear friends

I am on eliquis and sotalol after being diagnosed in January. Over the past month my blood pressure has increased and so with it my afib episodes. My GP wants me to add a blood pressure tablet to my mix. Does anyone else take a blood pressure tablet together with a beta blocker. This is really starting to get me down.

All sounds normal. BP is a driver for AF so best get on top of that.

As Bob said, all normal. I take 2 x 80mg Diovan for high BP and 1 x Metoprolol beta-blocker. Had an ablation 2 Years ago and since then all ok. Still some PAC and PVC here and there but thats also quite normal.

Hi scotthongkong yes I used to take Blood pressure tabs with sotolol and Eliquis at one stage. I havent taken any meds for AF/SVT since my ablation in 2016. Still on Eliquis. Sotolol didnt agree with me so eventually got put back on Metoprolol which I had at the beginning. Check with your Doc about Sotolol again I thought they took it off the market. I note you can check your own BP If so keep an eye on it whilst on BP tabs. Record it for your GP You might find it goes down too much.

I do ... it all seems fine ... my blood pressure is always in ideal range and my afib is very unusual to occur. Maybe three times in four years.
