I'm not taking verapamil, only bisoprolol but taking paracetamol and Gaviscon are, I'm sure, quite safe. If you do suffer with digestive issues, the one to avoid the most in my view is constipation or bloating since these can push the intestines and stomach up against the diaphragm and heart setting off palpitations. One form of these (PACs) can precipitate afib in prone individuals.

Hi

You can buy PPI tablets over the counter and those will be better than Gaviscon, which does little for me. The PPI drugs can be safely mixed so don't fear them at all. Have you been checked for infection with h. pylori? It's generally harmless but can cause gastritis and similar and needs triple treatment to get rid of (two antibiotics plus a PPI).

Last time I had gastritis I was checked for the bacteria but it was clear ...doctor says I need to have it rechecked on my return from hospital .. What stomach problems do you suffer from ? Do you feel there is a link between afib and stomach issues ?
