Hi guys. Had ablation on Monday and been “ok” since. Nothing that I would say is out of the ordinary. Had problems with very low blood pressure during and after the op but readings coming back ok by time of leaving. Been pretty much sitting or laying down since with brief walks down the hallway to get/do this and that. Just got up for first time to take dressing off wounds and have a shower and by the time I’d gotten out I had flashes of light in my eyes, dizziness/faintness and a headache. Similar to what I had when I woke up from op but not quite as bad.
Has anyone else had this? Could it be my blood pressure dropping again as I’ve just read this can be a rather worrying sign post ablation and can be dangerous. Was gonna ride it out for a bit and see if it dies down while laying down and if not then call the arrythmia nurse.
Edit : Can now add ringing in my ears to the list also.

Quite normal. Go back and read the fact sheet again and relax. The light flashes are migraine aura which was talk about . You have an awful lot of healing to do yet Elli!
Thanks Bob. Reassuring. Have you got the link to the sheets again? I have read them but it’s been a while and I don’t remember anything like that mentioned 👍
Thanks again Bob. I’ve just given it another thorough read. Forgot how much good info was on it to be honest. Should have given it another read straight after.
Thanks for the swift reply as usual Bob you are most definitely the father of the forum 👍 had me a little worried for a minute then as I couldn’t see a thing for a good 3/4 minutes, trying to fumble my way down the stairs, felt like I was about to pass out. Just instantly thought about the blood pressure issues I had in hospital and thought I might have to make a phone call.
I had these too. As Bob says, quite normal, though slightly alarming. Watch out for sudden changes if position as these tend to bring it on. I saw stars for 5 minutes after bending down to adjust a wall plug 😊
I've been still getting migraine aura (without the migraine thankfully!) seven weeks after my ablation. Just resting and trying not to use my eyes as much makes it pass within the hour. No screens or reading, maybe go for a short walk or spend time looking out of the window. Watch for birds in the garden etc.
Good luck with your recovery, and don't be too surprised when you get bouts of AF over the next few weeks. It's supposed to slowly get better . . .
Totally normal. I had the flashing lights or like I call it, looking through broken glass, several times after my ablation but they decreased in intensity over time.
