Anyone got the latest version Kardia, are you pleased with it?
I had one years ago but I've lost it, one of the original models. So thinking of replacing as I'm having some issues I'd like to record and show electrophysiologist next time I see him. Will he take it seriously?
Is the new one much different to the old models do you know?
I had the old Kardia for several years but now I have the newer version with the 6 readouts which is great. I am able to regularly send my EKG's to my Cardiologist for his feedback, etc.
I bought the 6 Lead version to replace my circa 2013 original. I’m happy with it but find it a lot more sensitive to movement and NFM’s.
My doctors have always been enthusiastic about Kardia so always accepted them. My EP was part of the original ‘real life’ testing team so very enthusiastic. I think you would need to ask your own doctors whether or not they would accept them.
I also have the new one after many years using the old one. It works well and I am hoping that when next see a cardiologist they will be able to get more information from it than from the old one. It also identifies a few other conditions as opposed to just AF. Currently PVCs in my case.
I've got both the current 6-lead and the original 2-lead. Very happy with both. The 6-lead, which uses Bluetooth is much less affected by the local environment than the 2-lead which uses some sort of sound communication with the mobile.
I don't pay for the monthly sub, so not sure what I'm now missing out on with the new advanced determinations like QTc interval, Sinus rhythm with supraventricular ectopy (SVE), sinus rhythm with premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) and sinus rhythm with wide QRS. I'm not sure if these advanced determinations are:
- available in normal use without subscription
- available without a subscription if a review is paid for (about £5 each)
I am interested in your answers; I had my iphone stolen a couple of weeks ago, along with my old Kardia which was on the back, and I am not sure whether to buy the new version, as my Apple watch does an ECG.
Off topic, but I am so cross about the iphone; as it can never be used or accessed by anyone else, apparently the street value is about £20 for spares and repairs. CCTV footage can't identify the thief as she was wearing a mask!
I know you can lock and/or wipe your iPhone remotely, but I wished they've go further and have a button you could press remotely so it just melts.
I'm still undecided. There is the new version of the "normal" Kardia at about £100, but also the 6-lead version at £150. Seems most people have gone for the 6-lead, so I may well do the same just for that reason.
I don't know how the Apple watch compares to Kardia.
The shop let me ring my husband, and the thief had already switched my iphone off (my husband can track me by it). The watch seems accurate in recording an AFib episode but as far as I know doesn't keep a record but my Kardia did.
Thanks to everyone for the responses.
I really haven't a clue and will just rely on the Kardia telling me something's possibly wrong, or otherwise, and I hope to be able to catch some of the things that are happening to me so I can show the EP.
The specific reason I've enquired is because I've been having problems for months and had a pretty bad time. I went to see my EP and he's fitted a monitor to my chest which'll be stuck there for two weeks, then sent off for analysis.
Naturally, as soon as I got home from having it fitted, I felt fine for the first time in months, and obviously, nothing has happened since!!! It's like when you take your car to the garage, gggrrrr.
I want my own device at home to catch whatever happens in the future, either this occasion or the next as it's not going to go away.
