Six years to the day since my cryoablation for paroxysmal AF. Carried out by Prof. Richard Schilling at London Bridge. Thanks to him and his team I have been totally AF and drug free for the last six years. It is hard to express how much better my quality of life is. I walk about 5 miles every day, manage a glass of wine and a coffee every day. Luckily I am quite slim so don’t have to worry about what I eat.
I feel fantastically lucky to have had the ablation and to be so fit at my age (now 75 and with fingers crossed). Hopefully, this post might persuade some AF sufferers to consider ablation whilst there is still time,
Peter

They were getting closer and closer together. Every day or two by the time of the ablation. They were also lasting up to and beyond 24 hours. I probably left it longer than I should. I was on Flecainide but my AF had outgrown it.
I too had my cryoablation done by Prof Schilling at London Bridge. Mine was 4 years ago and I'm also very happy that despite 4 years more age my fitness and activity levels are pretty much back to where they were pre-AF.
Glad to hear you are so well Peter. Prof Schilling did my cryoablation ablation at Whipps Cross Hospital about the same time and apart from a few ectopics I have been very well too. He is a very clever man. I remember his chat with me before the procedure. I told him I had gone several days without A.F and he patted my arm and said let’s make that a longer time shall we! He certainly did. Iris
