76 years old, on Metoprolol extended release (ER) 25 mg, Atorvastatin both once daily

I was taking Metoprolol ER 100 mg once daily and feeling tired and lacking energy. I also have sleep apnea and epilepsy. My EP says Multaq is expensive but works well. I have also had a maze procedure. I am asymptomatic but have been told I have been having a lot of fibrilation and a heart rate that goes up to 200 as determined by readings from my implanted loop recorder. I had been increased from 25 to 100 mg due to this AFIB and high heart rate. I plan to follow his recommendation but wondering if others have had good luck with Multaq. Also wonder if Metoprolol has given any symptoms. Cost is not a consideration.

Hi, I was on Amiodarone for 7 months and had to stop as it caused eyes issues and was put on Dronedarone 400mg twice daily and have been on it for 4 months and feel confident with it. My Cardiologist has told me to take it for a further 12 months before review. I only had my first liver test after 3 months ( I think they forgot ) but all was OK. I had been on Sotalol, Flecainide and Bisoprolol which had all appeared to run their course. I have had two ablations and am hoping this will be the magic drug for me! Good luck!

I have been taking Multaq for 6 months with Diltiazem 90mg x2 and various other drugs. Since starting this drug my blood results for liver have been coming back abnormal. I have just had another test so will see what that says if still the same I may have to stop taking it, which would be a shame as it seems to be doing the trick. Good luck 🤞

I was taking Multaq for about 3-4 years and had multiple episodes of AFib. I also had a Cardiac Ablation which worked for about 1 year then had multiple AFibs. I was told by 3 Cardiologists that Multaq was not very effective in controlling AFib. I have now been on Sotalol for 2 years and have had only 2 10 day bouts with AFib. I also had a Pacemaker installed for another reason but it had no effect on AFib. I also take for BP Carvidilol, Valsartan, Amalodipine. I also take Eliquis for blood thinner.
