I have been taking it since 14/4 and have had a bad headache everyday This is the second time that I have tried it - the first in January when I was diagnosed with Covid but I stopped after 2 weeks because of headaches and rectal bleeding (all ok)
For the first 4 weeks I was on antibiotics for a painful gum infection so I was not sure if that was causing the headaches but they have continued now the antibiotics have stopped
I have done a search and headaches do not seem to be a problem for most
I take bisoprolol as a PIP (10 episodes in 6 years) and I also take omeprazole (as and when) for Barrett’s esophagus
Has anyone else suffered headaches with Apixiban and been able to find a suitable alternative

I have had Apixaban a while back but can’t recall suffering from headaches, but we are all different. You could ask your doctor to change you to one of the other NOAC’s.
Dabigatran is also taken twice a day, whereas the other two, Edoxaban and Rivaroxaban are once a day.
Currently taking Eliquis and no problems with headache. However, lots of things can cause headache.
If you've felt stressed or mildly anxious for a time ... that brings on tension in the body, which can lead to headache. Especially if you've felt tense in shoulders, back of neck, and head.
Do you have any sugar metabolism issues like pre-Diabetes?
Could certainly be the apixaban. We're all different.
Antibiotics are notorious for side effects, even though most people regard them as safe. They destroy the 'bad' offending microbes in the body .... but unfortunately kill off all the good stuff you need, too. Which leads to a cavalcade of problems sometimes, like candida, UTI's, headache, GI distress, list is endless.
I've read that chronic proton pump inhibitors you're taking for your Barret's .... can throw the body systems out of whack in a number of ways, too. Who knows .... that could possibly be the culprit.
It could be related to eye issues ..... or a concussion ..... or food sensitivity. And probably many other things.
Hopefully ... it's just one of those transient things in life that bothers you for a while .... then leaves .... not letting you know why it happened, but nevertheless happy that its moved on. Good Luck!
