Thanks for all the replies to my previous question.Just realised 3 & a half months since my Afib changed and up and down like a yoyo.Tachycardia last 3 days with just the shortest of walks.Gp did refer me for Heart failure but ruled out.Cardiologist suggested to GP he could try loop diuretic and increase my Dilitaziam if need be.I am Reluctant to take more medication as I am so sensitive to side effects and against just blanket the symptoms with pills. Any advice.Gp did request change to AF clinic 2 months ago but no communication from them.
Where do I go from here part 2 .Do I ... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Where do I go from here part 2 .Do I let Gp give me meds or keep waiting for Cardiology appointment.
Hi KK.
I'm not a medic and can't offer advice about what med's you should take or not.

Yes - call the clinic and try and chase up your appointment. I think he who shouts loudest etc applies here. I'm going through the same at the moment but called my GP who said he can 'fast track' my referral to the clinic and it normally takes a couple of days until they respond.
We'll see !
However I'll keep chasing it up - I suggest calling the clinic and doing the same. For sure - that's what I would do. Tell them how ill you feel and how it's affecting your life.
Good luck with it.
Paul
I tried that without a lot of luck and it only left me thinking it hasn't changed track from cardiology.I have asked GP practice to chase it.It just seems an impossible task.
For sure KK. I know it's not easy at the moment and fully understand your frustration. Nightmare TBH to be honest but this is the life at the moment.
I would still get on to your GP and clinic if you feel so unwell. Tell them it's affecting your QOL and you can't carry on like this. It's not easy I know when you feel unwell - I'm the same right now.
However 'being nice' doesn't always work in this world. I still think a polite call explaining how you feel is the best way forward for you.
That's my take and I hope it sorts itself out soon.
Paul
Thanks and good luck with your journey.
Have you ever had an ablation? ...... sounds like you need one.
My AFIB came back last August with tachycardia after 10 years of post ablation peace and normalcy. I immediately scheduled another ablation with the best EP I could find.
Had that on OCT 22. AFIB and tachy are gone. Recovering well .........
When I saw my Cardiologist before the ablation ... he said the procedure would get rid of both, and he was certainly correct.
Good Luck! to you .... and I hope you get the necessary help you need.
Contact the arrhythmia nurse? It may be a circular process - those details would be given by the AF team - but may be obtainable?
Hello kkatz, it is always best to speak to your doctor regarding your medication, they have access to your medical records and can decide the correct dosage for you personally. If you need any support or advice, then please do not hesitate to contact our Patient Services Team. info@afa.org.uk
