What a pointless article, all might cause this, might not cause that but we don't really know 🤦🏻‍♀️

Thank you for sharing this goldey. I was told many years ago, by a member of this forum, to try sleeping on my right side and not my left. Doing so made me much less aware of what my heart was doing beat wise. Now if I try to turn on my left I immediately become aware of my heart thumping away.

Same here. Feel every thud if I lay on my left.

I try to sleep on my right side but sometimes end the night on my left or on my back. Thought the article was just a tad inconclusive, but I will continue to try to sleep on my right side.

I always go to sleep on my right side, but don’t find that the left side is a problem-in fact it’s often more comfortable for the heart if I have palpitations. When I lie on my back ,however, I sometimes get ectopics. The problem is, of course, whatever side you go to sleep on, your position may change during the night involuntarily. Does anyone know of some sort of cushion or suchlike that can prevent turning over from one side to another?

I just put two extra pillows on my left side to prevent me rolling that way, which seems to work.

Good tip!

It makes absolutely no difference to me whichever way I sleep. I have gone into af when laying on my back, my right and my left side.

I definitely find sleeping on my right side is better. More comfortable with my ICD and less heart awareness. One thing that wasn’t mentioned was the angle you sleep at. If I wake up with an AF episode I’m always laying virtually flat having slipped down the bed. I sleep at a 45 degree angle. If I’m having an episode, the only way I can get to sleep is sitting upright but leaning on my right side.
