Well, today I had 19 mins more sleep. I think I slid off my 5 pillows and that started off the discomfort again, front and back.
My thigh had been sore and aching today as its swollen and quite heavily bruised. Tonight, I've noticed that the bruising has spread more and is now down to my knee. I didn't think it would still be spreading 4 days in..... could it still be bleeding in there? I may give the nurses a ring tomorrow. The groin itself is fine. No pain or bruising there. Any advice on how to reduce the bruising gratefully received. I have been moving around more today as it seemed to help with the stiffness and aching.
A few ectopics and flutters but nothing much and resting pulse has been between 48 and 62........ pulse of an athlete, body of a wrestler.
Fingers crossed I can get past 4.19am asleep and hopefully, no discomfort and nothing sinister going on with the bruising.
Take care all.😊

I had a similar situation after ablation and it was caused by internal bleeding .I was back in the hospital for a few days and given a blood transfusion .After that it was fine. You should probably be seen by you doctor.
Hi I had a ablation 3 years ago age 38 my brusing waant that bad but was told the more you move about the more brusing there would be? But I hardly moved as I was worried my insertion was going to bleed. Sometimes it may mean that when they first jab you with that lovely needle it hit other muscles or veins so more brusing appears. I do hope you feel better soon it is a slow process I had 2 kids to keep me going. Feel better soon
As I mentioned in another post Ducky after my first ablataion my groin and leg looked like a Jackson Pollock painting and took weeks to fade to grey. Look on it as a useful tool to judge when to push a little harder. When the bruising has gone then your heart has begun to heal.
If you are that worried then ring your GP and get checked out and of course if it feels hot or looks angry then go to A and E.
Thanks. Wasn't so much the colour that was bothering me but that it had spread again yesterday. May be just a gravity thing as I was standing more yesterday as it felt better than sitting. Doesn't feel particularly hotter than the other leg. Did read on here about someones bruising reaching their foot 😳😳😳
I also had this after my first ablation. Still bleeding from wound. I ended up needing a transfusion as my blood count went very low. Call the cardiology department. Take a photo each day. You can send them a picture to monitor. Perhaps apply some pressure to wound entry. Using cold flannel.
I'm not actually bleeding at the wound. That has no bruising at all around it and no swelling or lumps and looks remarkably good (as much as a groin can 😁) Its actually bruising on the inside of my thigh, which had spread down to my knee.
Bruising...when I recently broke my shoulder the bruising gradually got worse over several days ,heading south down my arm.I'd think it sounds normal but not had ablations. Hopefully someone can say definitely.xxx
Look missus you've had something done to your heart, not your big toe! Hearts are important - put all your queries to your GP, EP's secretary or AF nurse and at least give yourself peace of mind. I've had three ablations and have never suffered with pain afterwards, apart from a 10 second episode once.
Hello Auntie Jean 😁. I've not had any heart pain to my knowledge. My cardiologist rang 2 days after the ablation to see how I was and said the slight pain I had, on occasion, was likely to be oesophageal irritation, due to its location and nature and should settle in a few days. Thankfully it has so please dont worry. Just need to get rid of this pesky bruising as the achy purple leg is doing my head in 😁.
Call your dr if you have any worries! The bruising can be impressive. I’ve been told it depends on how they close the blood vessels they’ve been using. I had 2 ablations w a dr who use a fast sealant that felt like a lump of cement. Wow, the colors and size of the bruises were crazy. 3rd ablation, different dr, used older techniques that had almost no bruising.
Thanks. I popped a blood vessel in my calf last year and that looked pretty spectacular but this is on a slightly bigger scale and aches like mad.😊. No bruising in the groin, just a tiny lump.
