2nd vaccination shot

On Wednesday I received my 2nd Pfizer vaccination. The first time I only had a sore arm. But this time I had a headache and was nauseous. I had to leave work in the middle of the day on Thursday. I also have noticed that my HR is a little higher than usual. I was finally getting back into a normal heart rate after my ablation In December. Since the shot I have be in the 90’s. I know that is still in the normal range. I’m thinking it was a little higher Thursday night as I work up with what felt like a fever. Never did take my temp. However, Friday I had bouts where it would jump to about 110. I have seen posts on here asking if there was a correlation between the vaccine and heart rate. I’m now starting to wonder the same thing. Or, maybe it’s because I have been anxious all week about getting the shot and having the side effects. I’m still on the anxious side because of the side effects. But glad I’m now vaccinated.

I get my second Pfizer tomorrow morning. I had no problems with the first shot apart from laying on my arm that night so it was a little sore the next morning. My wife had the Astra Zeneca and had aches and shakes that night and woke up freezing cold she was then achy and fatigued for a couple of days with bad headaches. Still better than getting covid. I look forward to getting my second shot as does my wife.

I think if your immune system is reacting to the vaccine, which it obviously is, then I think the symptoms you describe seem to be quite common ones and as long as they don’t continue for more the 4-5 days, should be considered normal. Hopefully everything will settle down for you soon. It seems that many people find they have more of a reaction after the second dose.

I’m still waiting for notification for my 2nd jab.

Hi, there is a really useful article here on the CDC website cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nc... It particularly mentions the more intense side effects after a second dose. It is quite normal and the side effects should pass in a few days.

Hello, Baseball! How do you feel now, after 4 days? Any better?

I’m doing much better. I received the shot on Thursday and it took until Sunday for me to feel 100%. Thanks for checking on me. 😊

Had my second pfizer shot a couple of weeks ago now. First one went fine, second has been a little more challenging. After my ablation my HR etc has been fine and all good no problems . Since I've had the second shot, changed, I didn't have a reaction until week 2, since then I've been experiencing the odd day of flu like symptoms ( had couple of days wiped out) , a higher than usual HR usually, typically 66-70bpm , the odd day now 75-88bpm, and hot flushed cheecks and head, the injection site I didn't feel a thing for first week, then oddly started giving pain for five /ten min intervals . Poor sleep the odd night and lethargy has been felt since, and a generally unwell feeling. Yet some days nothing and feel great. Feel like your coming down with the cold, yet nothing materialises.

Read quite a few people getting similar symptoms, and odd delayed reactions, the younger the more pronounced the reaction it seems from feedback from others, the immuno response being stronger in some making for a tougher few weeks, but still worth it in my opinion for the benefit of not being hospitalised in worst case Covid Scenario, and the numbers are dropping in relevant age groups, so it's definitely doing something right.

It was no walk in the park, but I have no regrets!
